Subject: must be theologians? |
Bible Note: Aixen7z4 I'm not trying to put words into your mouth but I think I understand your heart. I think what your saying is; we have to know God, have relationship with Him not just a technical knowledge of Him. Your right many people both theologians and not have a technical or academic knowledge of God but have never developed a personal relationship. They know God, the technical aspects but they don't know God, His very essence. You have probably meet these people they are everywhere, the have HEAD knowledge but no HEART knowledge. The think and exist with their physical senses having never developed a spiritual sense. However the problem is not education, nor is it the fact they study versus search. The problem is they have never yielded and let God reside in their lives. I have met many that treat the Bible as a technical manual, and many have memorized it from that standpoint. They are always ready to give you a technical explanation for any question pulling verses here and there to prove their point. However there are also those that treat the Bible as a love letter and live it from that standpoint. They view the Bible as whole not trying to establish doctrine from verses but rather by what all that God has said. No my friend the problem is not education, nor words we don't always understand nor studying versus searching. The problem is unless you have a living relationship with the Living God everything else falls way short. My friend instead of letting theological terms you may not completely understand form your opinion of the user of those terms, let the Holy Spirit that gives discernment show you where the persons heart is. I think you will find many that love to study scripture does so because they love to linger on each and every word our wonderful and wondrous God uttered. Your also right many theologians do confess what they don’t know about God. God is an infinite being and the more you know and love about God the more you find to love but you also realize God is infinite and we being finite can’t grasp all the mysteries He has revealed much less those He has yet to reveal. Be blessed my friend, but remember the problem is not education, not study, not theologians, the problem is trying to explain God in technical terms from a academic point of view rather than explaining God from a loving personal relationship.
