61 | The Feeling of Prayer. | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 175815
cynthia, One thing I want to encourage you with is this. Feelings are no gaurantee for truth. We all have em. Where is your heart when you pray? Sometimes we get tied up when we dont know what to pray about and that does happen. Praying isn't always going to be this big emotional experience, sometimes yes and that's good. Having an emotional bond with the father is healthy and needed. But our emotions dont key our time with God.They may play a part but they are not the key. In Christ, lionheart |

73 | What is considered an Idol | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 140574
Noveta Hi! Worldly people and sometimes Gods people will call the things of God into question. To the unsaved the cross means nothing,But to those who are being saved as Paul states in 1Cor 1:17,18 it is the power of God. The cross is a constant reminder to what Jesus did for us. Idolitry is anything that takes first place ahead of God. God wants first place in our lives. Mtt6:33 Deut 6:5 God wants all of us not just part of us. 1Jn3:21 Says that if our heart doesnt condemn us we have confidence before God. So if you can have a clear conscience dont fret what people will tell you just keep your focus on God and his Word and pray lots. In the end it's what God says that carries the weight. Read Romans chapter 14. Paul adresses matters of the conscience and things that we could call disputable. Read that I think it will help put your heart at ease. Your Brother in Christ lionheart |

74 | Does all scripture mean the same to all | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 141045
Hi karen c I was reading your question and want to make sure I'm not barking up the wrong tree. 2PT 1:20 (KJV) No prophecy of scripture is of any private interpretation. The meanning doesnt change. Gods Word must be allowed to speak for itself. As situations change application can change. EXAMPLE: A hammer is used to pound things, in one apllication it may be used to drive a nail, the next time you may use that hammer to straighten something etc. etc. I hope this isnt too primitive. Your brother in Christ: lionheart. |

78 | what is the heart of man | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 143157
Proverbs 4:23 KJV refers to the heart as the wellspring of life. Proverbs 27:19 Speaks of how the heart reflects the man. When we talk about the heart of man we speak of what makes us,us.Who we are in the inner man. Heart in this usage is the hebrew word leb- meaning the inner person, the seat of thought. There are numerous verses addressing the state of our heart and what we need to do with it. But the references from proverbs here pretty well state what the heart represents.Ro 10:9 that if we believe in our heart kardia-heart,mind(seat of thoughtand emotion.)The heart was the seat of the innerself. I hope this was what you were looking for. In Christ, lionheart |
