81 | Children are God's , not man's | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 147813
uh-oh Greetings, the bible speaks volumes on how we should raise our children.Gods Word teaches that we are raise our children in the nurture aadmonision of the Lord. We are even ourselfs instructed not to be unequaly yoked with unbeleivers. This to is something we must pass on to our children. Now for a little biology. Please I'm not trying to be arogant here. It's just that when we look at the big picture things oft times become much simpler and less complicated. How can being an egg donor equate to giving our children to the heathen? Unless the egg has already been fertilised all we have is an egg.Certain things have happen before that egg becomes a life.If you dont have a child then you cant give it to the heathen. 2 Kings 16:3 refers to king Ahaz offering his son as a human sacrifice. All I'm saying is you gotta have something togive, you cant give what you dont have. 82 | Jesus Wept - (Jn.11:35) | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 148814
Greetings Bobby and welcome to the forum. I grew up during an era where as boys growing up that men just dont cry. How hurtfull. It's taken me a lot of years to overcome that teaching. People are so fearfull of being vulnerable with there hearts. But thats how God wants us to be. He will help us to gaurd our hearts,we need not concerne ourselves with what others will think, who knows that by alowing ourselfs to open and vulnerable what doors we may help open for other people as well as enabling God to work in our own lives. There is no shame in tears. In Christ, lionheart |

86 | Where should I turn?????? | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 154421
Dear friend, You ask some major questions here, and that's good because it shows you are looking. Here are afew things to help and encourage. 1.Gods Word is the greatest proof we have 2 Timothy 3:16- All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2. Every one has an opinion but it is Gods Word that is the absolute authority and we cantake God at his Word 2 Peter 1:20,21. 3. Read the gospels, look at what Jesus told the theif on the cross, Lk 23:43- I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.John 3:16-For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes shall not perish but have eternal life. You can count on this,The promises of God are rock solid, when you put your faith and trust in God you will never be put to shame. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. You can drop me a line any time day or night. In Christ, lionheart PS- Brothers and sisters lets get behind behind this person with all the help, encouragment, and godly consel we can muster. Ps daluvapassion15 you can find my e-mail in my personal profile, dont hesitate to drop me a line. |

90 | Ark Of the Cov. under Egyptian Rule | OT general | lionheart | 164845
Rylaha, Greetings and welcome to the forum. The OT gives a pretty good account of the Ark's travels and dispositions. I did a little research and it appears that the Ark was lost in 587 BC. when the babylonians destroyed Jerusalem. When the second temple was built there is no rcord that I know of the Ark being returned to the temple and there is no record I'm aware of that the Egyptians ever had anything to do with the Ark. 91 | Correct me please. | OT general | lionheart | 201220
RangerNorth, It's not a matter of increasing ones chances, it is a matter of what God has already done. Look at Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 2:38, Romans 10:9-10. It is about God's Grace and his commandment to us. My friend you will face allot of challenges in this life. Take theses two scriptures to heart and you will find the strength you need. Philippians 4:19 and Colossians 1:27. Keep swingin God is faithful. In Him, lionheart |

92 | Born under the law of Moses | OT general | lionheart | 218011
humility, Jesus had to be living by the law,His life was an open book for all to see. For him not to live according to the law would have been counter productive to His ministry. One thing though. Jesus would not be offering up the sacrifices being there was no need for him to do do at the time. What He told the leper to do was in accordence with the law. He wouldfulfill that once and for all at the cross. In Him, lionheeart |

93 | Do you control your thoughts? | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 140712
SHARMAN4U, Hang in there you are not without hope Satan can exert powerful influence over people. There are a number of references to those afflicted or possesed by demons and unclean spirits. Satan can bring all kinds of stuff our way. But we are not helpless.2Tim 1:7 says For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, and love, and discipline. 1Peter 1:13 tells us to prepare our minds for action. We do this by keeping our focus on God and submitting ourselves to him. Ja 4:7 tells us to to resist the devil and it says hes gotta go. Ro 12:2 Tells us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. WE do that by spending time with God in prayer and in his Word everyday. Satan will throw all kinds of junk at us,but by the power of God we can fight. Eph6:10,11,12. Remember Col 1:27 It's Christ in you the hope of Glory. You and God make a majority in any situation. Stay tight with the body you'll be fine. Your brother in Christ lionheart |

95 | We live together but are not married? | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 144835
Dear brother this may come off as harsh, but I'm gonna be straight up with you.The both of you will gain nothing from this relationship as it now stands. Please read 1 Corinthians 6:18-20.If the both of you truly want to follow God then you must break off this relationship as it now is.This may be the way the world does things but not Gods people. I only say this from past experience.God can't and will not bless this type of relationship. This type of relationship is only a contract for failure. You both need to be onhundred percent sold out to doing it Gods way. If not you are both doomed before you even get started.Break this of and do things in a godly manner. If she is not comitted to this then you need to look to God for other options.God wants to bless us,but we gotta do it his way. Feel free to contact me at my e-mail address,I would be bleesed to share more with you. PS- God will provide a way out,let him. In Christ, lionheart |

97 | Is the image of the cross from God? | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 156652
deep input, Greetings and welcome to the forum. The greek word staros is and can be translated upright pale or stake and the Gospels and Epistles make numerous references to the cross, as you read the gospels and epistles the only rendering you will see is cross. There is also the greek word xylon which is rendered tree on I beleive 4 or 5 times. Also find yourself a good Bible dictionary it will be a good resource in researching the cross and crucifxion. Now as to having or wearing a cross my only question I would have here is your focus on the cross itself or He who died on it? I dont think you have a problem here. Pray and let God work with your heart and if this is something God convicts you about then act accordingly. In Christ, lionheart |

98 | baptist church | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 157057
Grettings and welcome to the forum, Acts 2:38 Romans 10:9,10 In answer to the first part of your question, The bible tells us specificly what it takes be part of Gods Church. There is only one way to be part of the Churuch. Gods Church is made up of born again saved disciples of Jesus Christ. Going to church every Sunday and warming a pew or bench never makes one part of any church or fellowship. God has made simple for us.We just gotta be willing to beiieve and obey God and His Word. In Christ, lionheart |

99 | friend, a homosexual, what do you do | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 167319
johnpastors, Your situation is a familiare one. It raises alot of questions in our hearts and minds. Do we break off the friendship? Do I keep my distance? I only had to go back to my salvation to understand that God loved me,it was the sin that he hated.I've learned over time that we can love people and not buy into their lifestyle. The best thing you can do for now is having your friend seeing the Word living in you. Share your faith with this person, pray for this person, pray with this person.Be a friend. The time may come when you may have to leave your friend to his/her devices. Jesus told the apostles not to cast their pearls before swine. So it is also for us in our day and time and it's a decision we will have to make at various points in our own life. It doesnt mean we give up on people,it does mean we do the godly thing and sometimes that may seem harsh and hardline, but at times that may be the most kind loving thing we can do for people. If we truly love people as Jesus loved and still loves us then we will ask the hard questions, even if they dont want to hear it and we dont want to say it. There is no xyz formula for your friend. It's the same formula that you and I had to apply our lives when we became disciples of Jesus Christ. That formula is Jesus. The best thing I can say to you here is, be the man of God that He's called you to be.In the end that can be what will help win your friend to Christ. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

100 | Revelation Chapter 1 to 3 | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 168854
GotJesus2, A good rule of thumb in answering questions like this one is in knowing when it (Revelation) was written and to whom it was addressed. During this time the church was undergoing extreme persecution. John wrote Revelation to encourage the church during this time of persecution and to ensure Gods people of His and our ultimate victory. I heard someone say along time ago that evil usually wins unless good is very very good. It may have seemed that way to many back in the first century church and it may seem that way today at times. Revelation was written to encourage believers other wise. God is still soverign and his victory is assured. In Christ, Gye |
