41 | babies life after death in heaven? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 231806
suncruiser, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Consider the culture and time in which the Bible takes place. If you refer to the Gospels you will see that Jesus was taken to the temple by Mary and Joseph when he was twelve years old. This was the age of accountability in Jesus time. In cases like this it's babies are covered by God's Grace being that they are not accountable. Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

43 | I dont want to divorce. | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 157229
markisredeemed, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I am relatable to what you are dealing with now. Yes adultry is grounds for divorce, but understand Jesus also told us that divorce was because of the hardness of mans heart. Marriage is a representation of Gods relationship with us his church. To those who remain faithful that relationship is eternal.God wants us with him forever. So it is with marriage,God intends for it to be for good. God has forgiven us so He wants us to forgive each other. Divorce is not etched in stone here there can be forgiveness between the two of you. That is ideally what God wants us to do. Many times we have the mistaken idea that when God forgives us when we come to him with our sin that the consequences go away that may not always be true, there are times when that does happen, but either way God loves us and will take care of us.What is important for you now is that you stay close to God,seek godly council from the brothers who are strong in the Lord, let the changes you are making in your life be evident to those who are in your life. Your wife will need time to heal and get her heart right with God. In the meen time leave it in Gods hands and ask for faith and perserverence.God always works things for the best,His and ours. Romans 8:29. I recomend also that you go back and read Matt 5:31,32 again. In Christ, lionheart |

44 | Did Adam / Eve know the meaning of evil | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 157500
wonbyone, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I cant say for sure or not. They were not ignorant nor were they unaware of Gods Command to them. They did have freedom of choice. I would say bottom line right down to the simplest of terms this was a matter of disobedience to Gods explicite command to them. In Christ, lionheart |

45 | Is faith all it takes to enter heaven? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 161898
jedidiah, Welcome to the forum. Hebrews 11:6- And without faith it is impossible to please Him,for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek him. Faith is a starting point. Without faith nothing else is possible. Repentance, confession, salvation ect. There is little likelyhood that one will follow anyone or anything they dont have some modicome of faith in. Jesus tells that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed we can move mountains. When we have faith in God we take the reigns out of our hands and put them in the hands of God where they belong. Check out Hebrews 11 and Romans 10 they will give you a solid foundation and a better understanding regarding faith. Prayerfully this will help and encourage you. In Christ, lionheart |

NightJay0044, Greetings and Gods best to you this day. A little encouragement for you here.Read Philippians chapter 4,James 1:1-6,2 Peter 1:1-11. God never promised us a life free of challenge, but he does tell us that our joy is not dependant on the circumstances. We can have joy no matter what the circumstances may dictate. 49 | Please read 1 Sam 15:1-4. | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 164561
Good day brother, I read the post you were refering to and the above mentioned passage of scripture (1 Sam 15:1-4). I think we both know God never contradicts Himself. What we are looking at here is Gods execution of judgement. The judgement here in this case was death. What is being stated here is judgement and not murder. In Christ, lionheart |

50 | reading the bible | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 167842
NightJay0044, Good evening brother. The message conveyed by the bible as a whole is and should be taken literaly, I agree with CDBJ though, within that message are many figures of speach, symbolisms, orientalims, metephore and the such.Much of Jesus teaching was done via the parable. One instance that comes to me is where Jesus tells us of faith and moving mountains. Now I've never heard of anyone moving mountains, but I can testify to this-It took faith to move mountains to get me into the kingdom. 2Timothy 3:16 tells us that all scripture is God breathed and that it's profitable,be it literal or metaphoric,Gods Word carries life application to everything we are and do in this life and that to come. In Christ, lionheart |

51 | What am i suppose to do? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 168203
WingsofAngels, Godbless you dear sister,it has always been peoples heart to be critical.People will oft times will read our lives before ever picking up a bible. People will make judgements about God based on what they see in us. Romans 3:23 tells us we've all fallen short. We are all under the same sentence, the thing that differentiates you and I from your friend at this present time is that you and I have Gods gift of grace in his precious Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and thats where you want to get your friend to. A couple of things here dear heart. 1. Let him see the Christ in you living in what you do.Colossians 1:27. 2.Jesus tells us to let the light shine Matt 5:16. Walk in such a way that it's clearly evident what your all about. That doesnt mean ya gotta be perfect. It's just not doable for us at this time. But when we are walking the talk consistently people will respond to that in one way or another. Read Isaiah 55:11 it will help give you some perspective. Keep being his friend, keep praying for him. Just make sure you are gaurding your heart and getting lots of advice from fellow believers. It might even be best if the brothers get in there with him and try and build a friendship with him and work with him.He will either respond or not.In any case then you have done what you can. I'll remember you and this boy in my prayers. Keep the faith dear. In Christ, lionheart you |

52 | Church of Christ --- A cult?? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 169594
calmrage, Cult or not.Nothing can justify what happened to this person.People are so ready to play the cult card all the time.I for one find it quite distastefull. If people spent a fraction of the time being 2 Timothy 2:15 disciples of Jesus Christ and no time pointing fingers and chopping people down there would not be these kind of accustions flying around so frequently. Johns epistles give us clear picture of who is of God and who is not.No dis on you here. God's Word does plenty to shed light on things like this. We just gotta ensure that we dont put a shade over the lamp. In Christ, lionheart |

55 | Will natural affection go by the way? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 173656
barbee, Welcome to the forum. I am very relatable to your dilema. I'm a single father of two adult children.21 and 23. God only knows the mistakes and disasters that have resulted from my sin.I will tell you this,we cant always be pointing the finger at the devil. That can be a copout,an excuse to not deal with sin past, present or future. You have an advantage in that you are all believers. You are already ahead of many parents in similar situations. Devote time to Philippians and 2 Peter 1:1-12. Both of these portions of scripture devote much time to where our hearts and minds should be,and what it takes to build and nurture our walk with God. A couple of thoughts here. First Jesus tells us that just as God has foregiven us so we should forgive eachother. If we are not willing to forgive then God will not foregive us. Secondly Philippians 3:12-14 do this it works! Seek out godly council, get help. You guy's dont have to play the lone ranger.Have you all sought any pastoral counceing within your fellowship. Pray, seek out God,get advice from standing believers. There is profit in all these things. Philippians 4:13,19! In Christ, lionheart |

56 | can someone explain the holy ghost? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 173896
davids daughter, Welcome to the forum. Have your nephew read Acts chapter two with attention to 2:38.The Holy Spirit is something we all received at the time of our salvation. God never overides anyone's freewill. What your nephew witnessed probably wasnt a manifestation of God's Spirit but was likely something else. Study out 1 Corinthians 12,13 and 14. Lot's of stuff here but if you apply yourself with a 2 Timothy 2:15 heart I think both you and your nephew will gain a greater understanding and appreciation of a very rewarding but oft misunderstood and misquoted subject. I pray this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

57 | Hw do I mk the wrld my chrch to tithe? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 174836
cynthia80, The most important thing to remember that your not giving to the world, your giving to God.If you are not part of a fellowship then find one that is spiritually sound and focus your giving there. For right now you might want to do a little research and seek out a ministry you can get behind, but always with heart that you are giving to God. He will take care of the rest. In Christ, lionheart |

58 | Is the Bible alone sufficient in authori | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 174957
CWT, There is one thing I can say and that is there is nothing that states in cannonical scripture that state that tradition and magisterium of the church are equal in authority. God's Word has always been the standard for faith and believing. God is the final and only authority when iy comes to His Word. Look at passages like 2Timothy 2:15,3:16,17, 2 Peter 1:20,21. All scripture is God breathed, God is the Author,no private interpetation. When it comes to authority and interpetation thats Gods pervayance not mans. In Christ, lionheart |

59 | Prayer Request. | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 175492
cynthia, I can hardly think of a situation more fraught with fear and doubt than one such as this.My heart truly goes out to you and your family. My ex and I had to work through many very tense issues, but today we are both disciples of Jesus Christ and I must say that she is a big reason that I myself can say with all conviction and confidence in God that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Cynthia I at one time would have been identified right along with your ex in the same mold. Is your ex saved? If not pray for his salvation. This may seem hard and even darn near impossible. My former wife,I can no longer call here ex but sister and close friend. She had every reason to hate me with every fiber of her being, yet she was one of the first to reach out to me and pray for me Godbless her everloving heart. God shows us all so much grace and we need every bit of it! A few questions and a little advice. Have you been in contact with the authorities? How aware are the believers in your fellowship of whats happening in your life? Get close to these folks if your not already. Most of all dear heart, pray, pray pray. Luke 18:1! You will be in my heart and prayers. If you want to contact me check out my user profile,Iam at your service. YBIC, lionheart |
