123 | WHAT DOES 2PETER1:4 MEAN AND IS THERE A | Gen 1:26 | lionheart | 148391
2 Peter 1:4 (Amplified) By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promisses,so that through them you may escape(by flight)from the moral decay(rotteness and corruption)that is in the world because of covetousness(lust and greed)and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. In this case I really like this version because it leaves little to the imagination. Now go to(Genesis 1:26,27) this passage fits very well with 2 Pt 1:4,it matches up very well.Understanding this passage will shed a lot of light on the verse you are asking about. Also refer to (Col 3:9,10 James 3:9) these verses will help offer some more clarity on things for you.Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

125 | who rules the earth | Gen 1:26 | lionheart | 149418
Greetings pretrib and welcome to the forum. The earth is the Lord,s God is the creator the world is His,you maybe equating ownership and rulership as one in the same. That is not always true.Read (Gen 1:26) this tells how God Gave Adam rulership, authority. When Adam sinned he relenquished that authority. Now,he didn't relenquish that authority back to God. Understand that God didn't give anything up, the aithority Adam had was confired on him by God.Now if he didn't relenquish that authority back to God that leaves us with another possibility. Checkout (Mtt 4:1-11) this will give you somefood for thought. In Christ, lionheart |

132 | Christiant without relationship | Gen 2:18 | lionheart | 198339
Hadassah-ruth, Good day to you. The first thing I want encourage you with is first and most importantly is to keep God first in your life. (Matt 6:33) Secondly is what evidence is there that he is saved. Growing up in church doesn't make one a christian. So the most important thing is his salvation and your walk with God. Read Romans chapter fourteen. Paul does a superb job in dealing with things of the conscience. Read this and give it allot of consideration. Give him a bible if he doesn't have one. Get him with individuals you know are strong in the faith. Yes you both grow in the faith, but that presumes that you are both in the faith. If he's not saved then you have a choice that you gotta make. Keep 2 Corinthians 6:14 in mind as you take all this into consideration. In Him, lionheart |

133 | marrage and fornication | Gen 2:24 | lionheart | 191115
Yesenia, Welcome to the forum. There isn't anything made up where the bible is concerned. Oft times God clarifies things for us by stating purpose or function. Genesis 2:23,24 is a good example. Read Deuteronomy 22:13-30, this gives a good and proper illustration of God's attitude where sex and marriage are concerned. In Him, lionheart |

134 | If God is so powerful and so good, why d | Gen 3:7 | lionheart | 215776
hopalong, I don't know how many times I've asked myself the same question and it comes back to the simple truth that God gives us freedom to choose and as usual we being who we are will muck it up. But fortunately for us God is sovereign and always in control. Thats why we need healthy doses of Romans 12:1,2 daily. In Him, lionheart |

135 | Main principle behind sacrifices? | Gen 3:21 | lionheart | 214684
johnramz, Allot can be said about this but in one word, Redemption. when delving into this subject it will prove helpful to go back to the beginning. Go back and go through the first three chapters of Genesis. It will help you understand the sacrificial system of the Old Testament which was a picture of what Jesus was to do. His sacrifice would be the last required to accomplish our redemption and salvation. In Him, lionheart |

136 | Is God capable of sarcasm, are people 1? | Gen 3:22 | lionheart | 223955
sonofmom, There are those who might view this as sarcastic. And in the case of the scriptures you gave this was God's responce to sin. Nothing sarcastic here. I will say this though, there are numerous symbols and figures of speech employed in God's Word and also when God is quite pointed and direct. Go through all of Gen 3 and you'll see what I'm saying. Look at 2 Tim 2:15 this is a must in any study of God's Word. In Him, lionheart |

137 | THERE WERE PEOPLE ELSEWHERE? | Gen 4:14 | lionheart | 166579
TWOANGELIC, A pretty accurate statement I would say unless Cain wasnt all there, granted he was dealing with a very intense situation here. His whole life and relatonship with God had been undoubtedly changed,so I would say that Genesis 4:14 makes things fairly explanitory. In Christ, lionheart |

139 | Did God experience what human did in O.T | Gen 6:6 | lionheart | 141078
God has always been familiar with and relatable to us.Read Gen6:6. We serve a personal God. I firmly beleive in my heart that when God created man he created man with the desire to have a people he could and would call his own and a people who would walk with him. Genesis tells us that Enoch walked with God. David is the only one in the Bible that is refered to as a man after Gods own heart. So yes I do beleive that God has always felt what we do. The difference being he is sinnless we are not. God has never been a stranger to what we go through and never will be. In Christ lionheart |
