141 | do we have to give tith? | Gen 14:20 | lionheart | 140595
farzaneh hello! It's not do we have to give our tithe. It's a matter of heart. In the Old Testament Gods people are directed to give there tithe. Read Ge 14:20,28:22 Le27:30, 2Chr 31:5,Mal 3:10 All these verses address the giving of the tithe. Lets forward to the time of Jesus. While Jesus is the fullfillment of the law. We gotta understand that there are things that were not discontinued. Our tithe being one of them. It's a matter of heart. Mk 13:41-43 The Widow gave every thing she had. That was her heart, not the requirement of the law. God is not asking you to give everything, but check your heart. Everything we have belongs to God in the first place. 2Cor 9:7 purpose in your heart what you can and are willing to do and go to God with it. Then stand by it and watch how much God will bless you. But do it because want not because you have to. God will always take care of you. Phil4:19 God will supply all your need. God isn't a scrooge. You wont be disappointed. 144 | Will all 10 plagues come back? | Exodus | lionheart | 186950
ddethan, I dont know that I would count on anything comming out of Hollywood as being biblically based. The ten plagues you are refering to are judgements brought upon Egypt in regards to Pharos treatment of the isrealites and his own hard heart against God. These ten plagues I believe have no future application as they were directed against Egypt. Go to Exodus it will inform you more regarding this subject. In Him, lionheart |

145 | i need clarification on Exodus 32:27-29 | Exodus | lionheart | 193484
beppy, Welcome to the forum. What clarification are you looking for. What I might recommend here is to read all of Exodus 32. That will help with some of the whats and whys. The reason I'm having you go back and read the entire chapter is that when we look at a verse or passage within the context in which it was written, it will shed light on that particular verse or passage of scripture. You are using a pretty good translation (NIV). The NASB- New American Standard Bible is very reliable also. If you are refering to the Life Application Bible I have one that I use frequently but I would recomend that you get yourself a good Reference/Study bible. There are a number of em out there. I have a couple of Thompson chain reference bibles (NASB,NIV) that have been very usefull. Also obtain a good concordane if you don't have one. ( Youngs Strongs are very good.) Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

147 | Where do i find it | Lev 18:22 | lionheart | 172305
young4life, Greetings and welcome to the forum. God defines marriage as a union of one man and one woman.Genesis 2:23-24. God gets specific real early. Mark 10:7,Romans 7:2, 1Corinthians 7:10,11 When we take God's Word into account there is no room for speculation. Scripture is clear as to what marriage is and what it is not. People can sentimentalise and twist The bible to there own theology or belief system but it doesnt change God's standard one whit. The greatest defence we as believers is knowing God and His Word.It is incumbant on all of us to be comitted 2 Timothy 2:15 disciples of Jesus Christ. Acts 17:11 be a berean. In Christ, lionheart |

148 | salvation for demons? | Lev 18:25 | lionheart | 140583
In response to Angel, 1 Peter 4:6 refers to those who have died. Rev 12:7-9 2 Peter 2:4 Refer to Satan and his angels. 2 Peter 2:4 Says that those angels,Satans angels, those who followed Satan in rebelion were cast into hell and await judgment. I know when I was a kid I would asks myself at times that if he could forgive me why he would'nt forgive them. Isaiah 14:13,14 makes it pretty clear why that will never happen. It's just that it's not in the character of the devil or his minions to ever turn back to God. God being God knew that. Thus thats why 2 Peter 2:4. We are not God and we need Jesus Christ, thats the message we gotta carry to the world. If the lost are left to there own devices they will beleive the same lie Satan and his angels tryed to perpetrate against God. Thats what got them where they are now. I hope this fires you up. |

149 | Such thing as a Christian Witch? | Lev 19:31 | lionheart | 155814
rujin312, This one area that you would do well to leave alone. Read the above listed scripture.Check out Exodus 22:18. God is very specific when it comes to the subject of witchcraft. There is no room for debate on this one.Dont let the devil decieve you on this one,he's a master counterfiter. It may look good, but in the end it's still counterfit and an out and out lie. Read Romans chapter 1 it will help give you a better understanding of things and a better mindset in dealing with this. You dont want to open the door on this,it may well be one you wont be able to close.Dont compromise on Gods Word, to do so not only endangers you but also those who are in your life. We dont need to play with matches to know we'll get burned if we're not careful. There is no being careful, you will get burned and it's gonna be painfull. If your looking for closure get close to God in prayer, spend much time in the Word and fellowship with believers who are strong in the faith. In this way you can and will find closure to what ever you struggling with now. In Christ, lionheart |

150 | Homosexual are picked on in the church? | Lev 20:13 | lionheart | 177306
journey_me, 1 Cor 6:9 is not the clearest scripture to use when dealing with homosexuality although it is inclusive of homosexuality. God does single out homosexuality in Romans chapter one and Leviticus 20:13.I wouldnt say homosexuality is the only damning sin though. Romans 3:23 tells us that all have sinned. Therefore without Christ all are lost. We as disciples of Jesus Christ are called to reach out to the lost.Your brother inlaw is in as much need of Christ as anyother person who is without Him. God hates our sin but he loves us and so must we learn to hate the sin but love the sinner. God has done no less for us and so we should do no less for those God places in our lives. 151 | Any thoughts? | Lev 26:1 | lionheart | 208150
Eli Marez, Greetings and welcme to the forum. Glad to have you. Have you read all of Leviticus 26. I'm glad you brought this up. Romans 15:4 tells us that His Word was written for our learning and for our encouragement. The Old Testament is a picture or patern if you will for what he was going to do for the whole world by His Son. Lev 26 is one of those sections of scripture allot of us have read through a hundred time and then one day you open it up and it's like your reading it for the first time. Leviticus 26 is huge in what our attitude of heart should be and how it relates to the promises of God for all of us. What do you think? I look forward to hearing from you. In Him. lionheart |

00123, I have a couple of books that I bought when I was younger (Christian fiction) by a guy named Frank Perreti. (This Present Darkness, Piercing The Darkness) They are good reading and do approach things from a godly point of view. I would also have no problem recomending any thing by C.S Lewis or J.R. Tolkien. I think your daughter would do well with them. Encourage her to read the bible everyday also. Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

156 | A Horrible plan to burn for eternity | Deut 32:4 | lionheart | 174658
pukalanian, I agree with Doc,The Gospel was never God's plan B it was always Plan A. Be grateful to God that it's no longer an eye for an eye,not that it ever was. Otherwise all of us are in a whole bunch of trouble. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow about His Promise,as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. One of the greatest things we have going for us today is the fact that we have His written Word,we dont have to be ignorant. What we need to be doing is applying 2 Timothy 2:15 on a consistant basis. I will say this and you can call me on the carpet if need be, I will stake my eternal salvation on this,I wil venture to say this- everyone of those individuals who will burn as you say will have had the opportunity to get right with God. God may be an equal opportunity judge but He is an equal opportunity Savior too! Think about a few things here and do some digging through God's Word.I think you will be much more at ease and more confident when you do. 1. Why did God tell the Isrealites to drive out all the inhabitants of the land he was giving them? And why did he tell them not to intermarry? 2.What does Paul tell us about the company we keep? It's an unfortunate fact that not everyone is going to make it. We are all faced with choices, Will we act in faith and obedience to God or will we choose to do it our own way and deal with the consequences that will come as a result of the choice we make. Moses told the Isrealites- Choose you this day life. People have that very choice today. They can choose life in Jesus Christ or reject Him. (choose death.)Sometimes the most loving things God does where we are concerned are the harshest when in reality it's the most loving thing for him to do. It may not seem like but it is. It wasnt God's purpose to have anyone die but Adam made the choice. We may not be guilty of Adam's sin but we deal with the consequences of that choice today.God is merciful,if not he would have never sent His Son. Do a little digging and I think you will find the answers that will clarify things for you. In Christ, lionheart PS: Read Hebrews 12. |

158 | The Christian response? | Judg 1:13 | lionheart | 196991
justme, God's day to you. After reading Doc's reply to you I must agree. It constantly amazes me to see those who profess or think we can change the will of God by what we do be it individually or as a nation. Acts 17:26,27 states it very well. God is sovereign, period. Our central responsibility as disciples of Jesus Christ is to heed his call to all of us in Matthew 28:18-20 be it as individuals,,leaders, organizations ect. is to go and preach the Gospel. Circumstances can change but God's will doesn't. What God has set in motion will be as he intended it to be regardless of who may rule at any given time. If people are truly commited to changing the world and seeing God's will then lets do it God's way. We have the blueprint, the master plan right in front of us. We can make a difference, but we gotta do it God's way. In Him, lionheart |

159 | Burnt human offering from 'godly' man? | Judg 11:31 | lionheart | 165180
Joanne G, Greetings and welcome to the forum,Read the Genesis Chapter 22 Account of Abraham and Isaac. This may offer some clarity to the account of Judges 11. Also look at Leviticus 18:21. It is unlikely although we dont know for sure that Jepthah offered his daughter as a human sacrifice. When we get into any kind of involved bible study we will eventually come across something that may not be clear or may present some problems in our understanding. When we do it becomes important for us to view these passages of scripture in light of the clear ones regarding that instance or subject. When we do this then we are able to see things much easier. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |
