161 | Does God make plans to kill people? | 1 Sam 2:25 | lionheart | 141268
Goodmorning. 2 Peter 3:9b Says God is unwilling for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. It's not in Gods plan to kill anyone. With this in minde go back to 2Sam 2:12 and read up to vs.25. Eli's sons were into some absolutly despicable stuff. God will go a long way with us but the time comes when one refuses to deal with their sin then God will expose that sin and deal with it. God will not endure a nonrepentant heart forever. This was where Eli's sons were at.It's important here to know that Eli's sons did not know the Lord.(vs 12) They had no relationship with God. In Christ lionheart |

162 | Is David really a man after God's heart? | 1 Sam 13:14 | lionheart | 147176
1 Samuel3:14 States that David is a man after Gods own heart, these are words straight from the mouth of God.This wasnt Samuels opinion or any other mans opinion. This is what says and what God says goes.Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie,Nor a son of man, that he should repent;Has He said, and will he not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? This verse speaks volumes about God's nature. God never said David was perfect. We see through out the bible where great men of God got into sin,but in the majority of cases they repented and returned to God. Because David was a man after Gods own heart there was no question about what he had to do about his sin and that was to repent and turn to God.Read Psalms,it gives a great account of how David battled with sin and it also gives account of his heart to deal with his sin in a Godly manner. God always forgave him. We have a great overview throughout the entire bible of where man is at with God and what people need to do to get right with God.It was no different in Davids day. It's not that David didnt have a problem with killing people,he had very hard choices to make, and you better believe that the physical and spiritual well being of Gods people were at the heart of most of the decisions and choices he made.Go back and look at how and why wars were fought.Look at why God would send his people into battle. I think if you do this things will be much clearer for you. |

164 | How are Job and his friends the same? | Job | lionheart | 166923
mystudy, Welcome to the forum. We could point to a few things they may have in common. But Job 1:1 gives us a very clear picture of Jobs character. Jobs friends may have been well intentioned in there efforts to get into Job's life but that's not where there hearts were at. This is reflected in God's response to their attitudes in dealing with Job. Job 42:7-9 Now while Job may not have been perfect throughout this whole series of events and challenges we do see though that even though when his wife and many of those who called themselvea his friends were telling him to curse God and die. Satan even stood before God acuessing Job. But God knew Jobs heart of hearts and we see where Job wrestled with God through this whole time and refused to walk away. We see how Jobs end was better than it's beginning and Gods grace and mercy when dealing with our sinfull hearts. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

168 | prescription for living, rephrased? | Ps 14:1 | lionheart | 142597
Existence of God may not be the question here, but is it for your friend? Outside of what the bible says there is nothing that exists that would be totaly compatable with what the bible calls for. Isa 55:8 Says our thoughts are not his thoughts, our ways are not his ways (forgive me for the loose paraphrase here.)anyway we cut it here we're gonna come up short.Ro 3:23 Share this with your friend. You might even share Acts 17:26-29. Any way that any of us try to live apart from God is temporary at best. Share this with your friend,it may not be what your friend wants to hear, but it's the best thing you can do for him. He needs God as much as you and I. This is after all what Jesus has called us to do.Matthew 28:19,20. You have a golden opportunity to make a difference in your friends life,Go for it. I hope I'm a little closer to being on the same page with you. In Christ, lionheart |

169 | Is foolishness always evident? | Ps 38:5 | lionheart | 190974
stainedcheeks 4, Welcome to the forum. I will say yes to both questions. This may seem a bit confusing, but not really. Things may may not always be evident to us but they can be to those around us. When we we are trying to deal with sin or lifes daily challenges or afflictions our judgement can be clouded. That's why spending time with God everyday is vital. I encourage you to check out 2 Corinthians 1:1-11 it will encourage you in what you may be battling with now. In Him, lionheart |

170 | PSALM 52 | Ps 52:2 | lionheart | 219465
cececapel, Welcome to the forum. Part of understanding Psalm 52 will be in understanding the context in which it was written. Psalm 52 gives an account of Davids flight from Saul. In the context of what is written here and how we should see it today we gotta understand that those that appose God and his people will always be trying to devise things to undermine those who want to walk with God. We see in Davids reply to all that was happening to him his trust was in God and his sovereignty. He had trust for God and his provision and stayed grateful inspite of what was happening to him. 2 Tim 3:12 is a good passage of scripture to keep in mind. When we take a stand on God's Word there will oft time be opposition. But as with David God has our back. In Him, lionheart |

172 | Healing | Ps 115:3 | lionheart | 161020
Jason, Greetings,Colossians 1:27 says that it's Christ in us the hope of glory.God may be in heaven but hes right here with us his sons and daughters. With that in mind dont you think Gods people can walk with the same power and authority today.Jesus is the same today as he was back in the days of the apostles. The disciples of Jesus day didnt go about willynilly healing whomever, they walk with the faith, humility, wisdom and attitude of heart that we should all be practicing today. Do we believe Ro 8:37,Philippians 4:13.It's not us but God.When we get that on straight God can and will do great things through us. In Christ, lionheart |

173 | Definition of "Perfect Will of God" | Ps 115:3 | lionheart | 195082
Lookin4ward2Heavn, Go back through this thread and read the original question and go through the subsequent postings in it. The original question was Can prayer change the perfect will of God? In answer to your question. If God is perfect as stated in the bible then it would go to reason that His will is also perfect. No one can change God's perfect will but our prayers can and do move His heart. In Him, lionheart |

174 | What r God's principles? | Ps 119:33 | lionheart | 147793
Greetings, You already have what you need at your finger tips. Thats why we do 2 Timothy 2:15 everyday. Thats why we strive daily to work Gods Word in our lives. But if we dont study it,if we dont apply it then we will never know the principles or will of God. Jesus told the Apostles he would send the Holy Spirit which would teach them and guide them. That promise is for us today as well and has been fullfilled. It's all there in front of you.2 Peter 1:3 tells us God has given us all things that pertain to life and godlyness. It's up to us to trust God and apply ourselves. In Christ, lionheart |

178 | Seems very unfair that I can not enjoy | Prov 11:14 | lionheart | 164185
Evangelistit, My heart go'es out to you as I am a single father who has raised two children. I may be wrong on this but the only scriptural justification for divorce is adultry. One thing I'll say is that your ex may have never been a christian to start with.God shows us alot of grace and mercy in lifes day to day situations. Are you going to church where God and His Word are Preached and honored. If not find a place that does.Get into Gods Word as much as you can, make it a daily priority, pray and seek out wise and godly council.I cant stress that enough, and above all trust God. You dont have to stand alone, make fellowship with believers a constant part of your life, there are no surviving lone Rangers out there today. I can think of a few of us here, myself included who will stand with you.God is not a hard case,it's his heart to bless us.He's not a harsh task master, but a loving father. 179 | Animals in the New Testament? | Prov 12:12 | lionheart | 187339
MWLaine, Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first the Kingdom of God. Where we run into problems is when we love things more than we love God.It's not necessarily things that are sin,it's when we elevate those things above God. God must be first in all things. So having pets is'nt sinfull,it's when we give them more attention than God. In Him, lionheart |

lunar, You seem to know an awfull lot about us but we know nothing about you. How about telling us a little about you. This forum exists to encourage and educate those who seek to grow in their walk with God. It is not a platform to promote personal agenda, character assasination,or doctrinal mindspeak.
