221 | Why would God lead us into temptaion? | Matt 6:13 | lionheart | 193039
scoats, James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted. "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. You've recieved good answers from others regarding this. God alows things to happen and many times he will use things, circumstances, and events to shape, mold or direct our character. Check out Hebrews 12:6-11 I think it will help. In Him, lionheart |

222 | How do I let go of hatred? | Matt 6:15 | lionheart | 166502
chell20013, Greetings and welcome to the forum.I want to encourage you to continue to seek out godly council. Heed godly council. The bible tells us that much advice ensures sucsess. Proverbs is an excellent resource regarding wisdom and council. My heart goes out to you as I came out of similar circumstances a number of years ago. Today my ex wife and I are both disciples of Jesus Christ. God has shown both of us an extreme amount of Grace and mercy. My ex played a big part in my comming to the Lord. The one thing we both had to learn though is that to forgive is not necessarily to forget. What it does mean though is that we can move on and not have our lives dominated by past hurts. When we dwell on those hurts then we havent truly forgiven. Forgiveness goes far beyond mere lip service. When we dont forgive we place ourseves and our loved ones in jepordy. The bible tells us that love covers a multitude of sin. One of the best things I can tell you at this point is to love your kids and love your father inlaw too. That may seem like a tall order. 1 John tells us that we love Him because he first loved us. See God took the iniative and so must we. When we love others as God has loved and still loves us then we can truly let go and let God. This will impact your children as well as your father inlaw. Read Romans also,I'm presently working my way through it. It tells us so much about Gods grace and we need all we can get. But His Word also tells us that God that God will supply our need Phil 4:19. With God all things are possible dear heart. In Christ, lionheart |

223 | no worries, just God | Matt 6:34 | lionheart | 176437
Jason, Good evening.Son you are making it much more complicated for yourself than it really is.I gather that you are a young dicsiple.correct me if I'm wrong,I can see though that you have a heart for God and He will honor that, thats something you can take to the bank! You've gotten solid advice from other folks here on the forum. Let me share a few scriptures with you that hopefully will simplify things for you. First of all the bible in 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us that God is not a God of confusion.2.2 Timothy 1:5 God has not given us a spirit of timidity(fear). The adversary wants you confused in mind fearfull of heart. Ya know what I say to that? Bah humbug, hogwash. It's not a matter if God wishes for you to understand because He does,3. Enter 2 Timothy 2:15 Huge, huge, huge! God wants you to understand period. Will you understand it all? Probably not in this lifetime. But check this out, anytime you go to God and His Word with a teachable heart you are going to learn, you will come away with understanding you didn't have before. It's a lifetime process son. Now here's the cherry on top of the sundea. Pray, pray, pray! Luke 18:1 This is one of the biggest reasons we pray.Cause if we dont we wont make it. Dont lose heart,it's a lifelong journey but it can be a rich rewarding one that will help us make it to heaven. Dont let anything steal your heart from God. In Christ, lionheart |

225 | need to know more on Matthew 7:13-14 | Matt 7:13 | lionheart | 143536
SWISSK, Welcome to the forum. We very often as christians because of our stand for God and his Word are accused of being narrow minded.People want to take the easy way to God,their own way. It's never worked. Jesus wasnt narrow minded but he did have a narrow focus thus narrow is the gate. John 14:6-Jesus said to him,I am theway, the truth, and the life;no one comes to the father, but through me. Very specific.Narrow focus yes.Narrow minded, absolutly not! In Christ, lionheart |

226 | Are we looking for a way or the Way? | Matt 7:13 | lionheart | 143570
In Genesis 15:1 God tells Abraham Do not be afraid Abram.I am your shield, your very great reward.I dont know if I would look at knowing the Father as a way as much as I would look at it as the way. God is what we get I dont know that it gets any better than that.I guess the big question here now is do we get complacent or do as Paul states in Philippians 2:12 work out your salvation with fear and trembling;13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. I would pray that all of us will be inspired to go above and beyond where our walk with God is concerned. In Christ, lionheart |

227 | What is required to pass the test? | Matt 7:21 | lionheart | 186470
Lookin4ward2Heaven, Yes only God truly knows our heart and yes we can know for sure that we are saved. The question that arises is where does one stand in relation to what God's Word says of salvation. Mk 16:16,Jn 3:16,Acts 2:38,1 Jn 2:23,5:1,5. A changed life will be evidenced by a changed life and a willingness to keep God first in their life,Mtt 6:33,Lk 14:26,27. Read all of 1 John, think about Heb 12:1 We have all the evidence we need. 228 | Is God's love really unconditional? | Matt 10:33 | lionheart | 199378
PaPaH, 1 John 4:19- We love, because He first loved us. (NASB) God has always taken the initiative where we are concerned. John 3:16- For God so loved he gave. There is no condition on God's love for us, the question is what will be our response to His love for us. In Him, lionheart |

229 | Hebrews 2:3-4 | Matt 12:39 | lionheart | 215421
humility, I might beg to differ with your friend. Our Lord dealt with the same heart and attitudes of people in His day and we do so today also. People always want proof when they already have it. Hebrews 12:1- Sence we are surounded by such a great cloud of wittnesses... We have all the evidence we need. We have it our fingertips, we have it living within us Col 1:27 and how about what God is and has worked and is working in our lives as well as the lives of others. So ya see, God does no less today than he has in years past. In Him, lionheart |

233 | Did my dad go to heaven or hell? | Matt 18:3 | lionheart | 165445
tyronesedeno, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Tyrone my heart goes out to you. My dad passed away back in October of 1982. Based on what I know now I have my doubts that my dad is in heaven. I wasnt saved then. I love and respect my dad to this day. There are times it grieves my heart to think of my dad,but in my ten years as a christian I'm learning that Gods grace and mercy go far beyond I know or can ever think in this life time.In times when I'm having doubts I hold Ephesians 3:20 close to my heart. None of us knows exactly what the future holds for us, but we can look to it with joy knowing that his blessed promise of eternity with him awaits us. Ya know Tyrone we will see and I'm sure of it, folks in heaven that we never would think of in this present time. God knows your heart and he knows mine and we both have a DAD that wants the best for us. Take heart and know that God is good. In Christ, lionheart |

234 | how about entering -vs- inheriting | Matt 18:3 | lionheart | 214293
Huron, Good day brother. Doing a simple word study will prove quite helpful here. Entering and inheriting are dependent on each other. This may seam bit loose in explanation. Check out the following Greek usages. 1. eiserchomai- enter, entered, entering. 2. kleronomeo- to inherit, acquire. 3. kleronomia- to inherit, used in reference to salvation in some contexts. Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

235 | Divorce: believer or unbeliever | Matt 19:8 | lionheart | 153584
Good day my brother, This is an issue that has raised countless questions and speculation .Matthew 19:8-12 I refer back to this passage of scripture because our Lord lays some pretty solid ground work regarding divorce and marriage. Jesus states plainly here the only reason divorce was permitted was because of peoples hard hearts.Notice that he also states that this isnt the way it was in the beginning. Our Lord had it down cold when it came to relationships. Check out 2 Cor. 6:14 and then come back and read 1 Cor 7:10-17. The impression I get here is that we are talking about the unsaved. Not always easy but simple enough to understand and with Gods guidance make some sence of. In Christ, lionheart |

236 | for what reason can a man divoce his wif | Matt 19:9 | lionheart | 191294
bottie005, I'll answer both of your questions here. The only provision God mde for divorce was adultry. Matt 19:9. It was always the will of God for those who marry to remain married, it was because of the hardness of mans heart that God made this one provision. Matt 19:1-9. In Him, lionheart |

238 | faith in the truth | Matt 24:6 | lionheart | 165755
Shythiyl, Greetings. We all are called by God to share our faith.Matt 28:18-20 We preach it,we teach it,and most of all we strive to live it. John 6:44 No one can come to Me,unless the Father who sent Me draws him;and I will raise him upon the last day. Isa 55:11 Gods Word gets results no matter what. People may tell us to take a hike, but believe this, the time and effort is not futile. The people we reach out to make a decision to do something with what we share with them, negitve or positive. That person will never be the same again. We plant the seed God will be the one to bring the fruit. Keep preaching it God will bring the fruit into the barn. PS; Let not your heart be troubled. In Christ, lionheart |

240 | The ingathering of Israel? | Matt 24:31 | lionheart | 166067
Hey Mark, Godbless you buddy. I will answer a question with a question here. The OT does speak of the return of the Isrealites to Isreal and I believe that is part of Gods plan for us. My question here regarding Matthew 24:31 is as things stand today are we not all Gods elect ( Jew and gentile who confess Christ as Lord and Savior.)? So could we be talking about all believers and not just Isreal? In Christ, lionheart |
