263 | Pastor preaches about men body parts! | Luke 22:26 | lionheart | 172643
Berianiam, I dont know too graphic although I would say there may have been a lack of tact here. What I see here is teaching that is unscriptural.Jesus tells us that the greatest leader will also have the humility to serve. Yes the man is head of household.Jesus Christ is the head of the body. Now if one wants to talk about being a real man, then lets take a good look at Jesus. Now here's a real man.Brothers,Sisters how does what we teach an believe line up with what our Lord taught and exampled? In Christ, lionheart |

264 | Luke 23:43 where is the thief? | Luke 23:43 | lionheart | 192988
lluvgod, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This has been a topic of some controversy in the past. One thing that can make figuring things out somewhat simpler is to realise back when the original manuscripts were written there were no verse divisions and probably no punctuation, at least not as we know it today. Punctuation has been a source of error and disagreement for years. One thing that may help when you come across passages that aren't clear is to take them in light of those that are clear regarding whatever it is you are studying out. In Him, lionheart |

266 | Is this speaking of Christ or believers? | John 1:13 | lionheart | 188334
george, Greetings and welcome to the forum. It's vital that we read things in context.Taking one single verse of scripture will not always tell us what we need to or want to know. By reading and considering things within the context in which they were written will greatly simplify our understanding. John 1:1-14 is very powerful in terms of telling of Jesus and what he would make available to us and our salvation. IN Him, lionheart |

267 | Jno.1:13 redemption or incarnation | John 1:13 | lionheart | 188524
saint-george, Why wouldn't all three of these verses conected? The first fourteen verses say a whole lot about this subject. (Incarnation,Salvation) That's why I've stated on other occasions the importance of looking at things in context. It takes allot of guess work and speculation out of the equation. In Him, lionheart |

276 | How we judge the Man? | John 7:51 | lionheart | 141859
Good day my brother, I'm gonna do my best to practice what I preach here. Let see what we will see. 1) Does living water flow from OUR innermost beings? If we go to verse 39 we get our answer. But this he spoke of the Spirit. You can read the rest of the verse. Jesus is refering to the spirit. 2) We gotta be a little more carefull with this one. A lot of questions will be answered by going back and reading the entire chapter. I believe Nicodemus was calling them to task regarding the Law dealing with the treatment of those they sought to bring charges against. Even today we have a right to face our accusers and present our case. The Law here would apply to anyone they would look to bring charges against. I hope I'm not eating to much shoe leather here. By going back and reading the whole chapter we will see they are looking for acassion to charge Jesus. The majority of the religious authorities of that day denied that Jesus was Messiah,he was even addressed by them as being a false prophet,or being an illegitimat child. They were looking for a way to take him out. We all know that when they finally arrested and tried him they had broken the law on more than one point. I pray I havent made to much a mess of this. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |

278 | What did it mean to be "put out"? | John 9:34 | lionheart | 207339
lor1960, Good day to ya and welcome to the forum. As this would apply to the church Paul is pretty clear in 1 Corinthians chapter 5 and he also discusses those who willfully cause division within the fellowship. 2 Corinthians 2:5-8 while not specifically talking about bringing these folk back into the fellowship it does address what our attitude of heart should be. Disfellowshipment was and is not meant to be permanent but with the view of restoring the brother or sister dependent on thier repentece and change of heart. In Him, lionheart |

279 | how would you explain this JW pet Q | John 10:30 | lionheart | 200316
hopalong, This is another prime example of how some folks will take one verse of scripture out of context and try and make it fit thier theology. What will they say to John 10:30. Once again I'll say this and I know I've probably brought this more times than some folks wanna hear but it comes back to 2 Timothy 2:15 and 2 Peter 1:20,21. God says we don't. In Him, lionheart |

280 | The Holy Spirit | John 14:12 | lionheart | 195313
NightJay, This can be a highly charged subject, even complicated. But if we will view it within the framework of scripture it becomes much simpler to comprehend and understand. Look at Acts 2:38 as a matter of fact read the whole chapter. Son when you received Christ as Lord and Savior you got the Holy Spirit. Look at Eph 4:4-6. When you were saved you got all the Holy Spirit you will ever get or need. Look at Col 1:27 Christ in you, this what you got when you received Christ. Now in relation to the greater works referred in John 14:12 look at this in relation to Matt 28:18-20. This is the greatness of the greater works referred to In John 14:12. That we can go out today and witness the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. In Him, lionheart |
