Hood Rat, God does speak to us,but it will be within the boundries of Hos Word. Anything God wil show us will be in line with His Word. It will not go beyond what He has revealed to us in His Word. Thats why it is encumbent on each and every one of us to be workmen of Gods Word. Then we can know what comes from God and what doesnt. In Christ, lionhreart |

264 | 1 Corinthians 7:17 to 28 | 1 Cor 7:19 | lionheart | 177597
Greetings dear sister, I believe what Paul addresses in this portion of scripture is that the important thing is not how we define ourselves religiously, but are we in obedience to God and His Word. 1Corinthians 7:23,24 It cost God something to redeem us, we need to ask ourselves have we remained true to Gods call on our life? Are we content with where God has presently placed each of us.Acts 17:26 God has determined the times and places. Are we surrendered to that? Hope this helps. YBIC, lionheart |

265 | Homosexual are picked on in the church? | Lev 20:13 | lionheart | 177306
journey_me, 1 Cor 6:9 is not the clearest scripture to use when dealing with homosexuality although it is inclusive of homosexuality. God does single out homosexuality in Romans chapter one and Leviticus 20:13.I wouldnt say homosexuality is the only damning sin though. Romans 3:23 tells us that all have sinned. Therefore without Christ all are lost. We as disciples of Jesus Christ are called to reach out to the lost.Your brother inlaw is in as much need of Christ as anyother person who is without Him. God hates our sin but he loves us and so must we learn to hate the sin but love the sinner. God has done no less for us and so we should do no less for those God places in our lives. 267 | no worries, just God | Matt 6:34 | lionheart | 176437
Jason, Good evening.Son you are making it much more complicated for yourself than it really is.I gather that you are a young dicsiple.correct me if I'm wrong,I can see though that you have a heart for God and He will honor that, thats something you can take to the bank! You've gotten solid advice from other folks here on the forum. Let me share a few scriptures with you that hopefully will simplify things for you. First of all the bible in 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us that God is not a God of confusion.2.2 Timothy 1:5 God has not given us a spirit of timidity(fear). The adversary wants you confused in mind fearfull of heart. Ya know what I say to that? Bah humbug, hogwash. It's not a matter if God wishes for you to understand because He does,3. Enter 2 Timothy 2:15 Huge, huge, huge! God wants you to understand period. Will you understand it all? Probably not in this lifetime. But check this out, anytime you go to God and His Word with a teachable heart you are going to learn, you will come away with understanding you didn't have before. It's a lifetime process son. Now here's the cherry on top of the sundea. Pray, pray, pray! Luke 18:1 This is one of the biggest reasons we pray.Cause if we dont we wont make it. Dont lose heart,it's a lifelong journey but it can be a rich rewarding one that will help us make it to heaven. Dont let anything steal your heart from God. In Christ, lionheart |

270 | Forgiveness and salvation | Mark 11:25 | lionheart | 175917
seedling, I cant even begin to count the number of times I've read this passage of scripture and just as you those last couple of verses jumped out at me. Talk about getting floored, talk about a wakeup call,Boy O Boy! I think allot of us today and I dont always think it's intentional, but we will place the responsibility of forgiveness on God's shoulders and forget that it's encumbent on us to forgive as well. God's forgiveness- Psalm 103;3,130:4,Mt 6:14,Acts 5:31,13:38,Eph 1:7,1 Jn 1:9. God has always taken the initiative in all things. 1 Jn 4:19 We love, because he first loved us. This is God's heart of forgiveness,we are called to the same standard. Mk 11:25,Lk 17:4,Eph 4:32,Col 3:13. Jesus didn't pull any punches here. If we dont forgive we will not be forgiven. I will say this, I dont know about voiding out ones salvation,I do believe that when one allows there heart to get so hard they absolutely refuse to forgive they do put there salvation in jeopordy. But the great thing is we can repent and get our hearts right with God. We may not always want to forgive but when we look back on what God has forgiven us of then we also can foregive others also. We must! Study out the above referenced scriptures I think this will help you to pull this issue together in your own heart and mind. In Christ, lionheart |

273 | The Feeling of Prayer. | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 175815
cynthia, One thing I want to encourage you with is this. Feelings are no gaurantee for truth. We all have em. Where is your heart when you pray? Sometimes we get tied up when we dont know what to pray about and that does happen. Praying isn't always going to be this big emotional experience, sometimes yes and that's good. Having an emotional bond with the father is healthy and needed. But our emotions dont key our time with God.They may play a part but they are not the key. In Christ, lionheart |

275 | Prayer Request. | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 175492
cynthia, I can hardly think of a situation more fraught with fear and doubt than one such as this.My heart truly goes out to you and your family. My ex and I had to work through many very tense issues, but today we are both disciples of Jesus Christ and I must say that she is a big reason that I myself can say with all conviction and confidence in God that I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Cynthia I at one time would have been identified right along with your ex in the same mold. Is your ex saved? If not pray for his salvation. This may seem hard and even darn near impossible. My former wife,I can no longer call here ex but sister and close friend. She had every reason to hate me with every fiber of her being, yet she was one of the first to reach out to me and pray for me Godbless her everloving heart. God shows us all so much grace and we need every bit of it! A few questions and a little advice. Have you been in contact with the authorities? How aware are the believers in your fellowship of whats happening in your life? Get close to these folks if your not already. Most of all dear heart, pray, pray pray. Luke 18:1! You will be in my heart and prayers. If you want to contact me check out my user profile,Iam at your service. YBIC, lionheart |

279 | Understanding being saved. | 2 Tim 2:15 | lionheart | 175003
speight, Our Salvation is a wonderous thing. When I think of my salvation and all that God has worked in my life these past 11 years Ephesians 3:20 always seems to come to mind.I dont believe one can lose one's salvation ,I dont believe the bible teaches that, but we can forsake God or walk away. Restoration is possible Galatians 6:1,2. May I recomend Hebrews and 1 John. They are rich in what our salvation and what it takes to have that relationship with God that we all need. Approach them with a 2 Timothy 2:15 heart. Also give 2 Peter 1:3-12 a look . I believe these scriptures will shed allot of light on things for you and answer questions. I hope this helps. Let us know what you come up with. In Christ, lionheart |

280 | Is the Bible alone sufficient in authori | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 174957
CWT, There is one thing I can say and that is there is nothing that states in cannonical scripture that state that tradition and magisterium of the church are equal in authority. God's Word has always been the standard for faith and believing. God is the final and only authority when iy comes to His Word. Look at passages like 2Timothy 2:15,3:16,17, 2 Peter 1:20,21. All scripture is God breathed, God is the Author,no private interpetation. When it comes to authority and interpetation thats Gods pervayance not mans. In Christ, lionheart |
