301 | Where do i find it | Lev 18:22 | lionheart | 172305
young4life, Greetings and welcome to the forum. God defines marriage as a union of one man and one woman.Genesis 2:23-24. God gets specific real early. Mark 10:7,Romans 7:2, 1Corinthians 7:10,11 When we take God's Word into account there is no room for speculation. Scripture is clear as to what marriage is and what it is not. People can sentimentalise and twist The bible to there own theology or belief system but it doesnt change God's standard one whit. The greatest defence we as believers is knowing God and His Word.It is incumbant on all of us to be comitted 2 Timothy 2:15 disciples of Jesus Christ. Acts 17:11 be a berean. In Christ, lionheart |

304 | how do you receive the full blessing | Jer 29:11 | lionheart | 171355
VMcGlocking, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I dont know that Malachi 3 is so much about tithing, giving and going to church ( these are all things we should be doing.) as much as it is about where our hearts should be and about trusting God. If our heart is not right with God then we only go through the motions and who knows if we would even do that. Jeremiah 29:11-14a is a good starting point if you want to study this out further. I would have one question for you, what do you percieve as fully recieve? In Christ, lionheart |

305 | Loving God with all your heart | Gen 1:1 | lionheart | 171353
NightJay0044, A few words of encouragement for you brother. You found God when you were saved. Jeff's answer to your question was right on the money. I don't know if any of us can or do everything we can. We blow it every day. But if we have the heart of going after him with everything we have we will be close to God. Let me encourage you with a few sciptures here, I think they will help.Acts 17:26-29 God is never far from any of us. Colossians 1:27- You cant get any closer than this. Jerimiah 29:11-14a God is there,we gotta have the heart and faith to reach out to Him.God doesnt go away. We do at times when we turn our backs on Him. But the great thing is we can repent-1 John 1:9. 2 Timothy 2:15,Luke 18:1- Get quality time in Gods Word every day and pray, pray, pray. Our emotions and feelings are no gaurantee for truth, we can get fooled by them,But if we keep our focus on God and His Word the odds of that happening go way down. Stay strong brother and know that God is good to all his promises. Read Psalm 119 you will gain much assurance and encouragement. In Christ, lionheart |

306 | Salvation not through faith alone? | Romans | lionheart | 171231
Rich, This may help answer your question. Faith is the greek word pistis- Faith, faithfulness, belief, trust, with an implication that actions based on that trust may follow;"the faith"often refers to the Christian system of belief and lifestyle. (Zondervan NIV Exhaustive Concordance) The greek word pistis is an action verb. Faith always involves action. Check out James 2:14-20. We had to have faith or none of us would be diciples of Jesus Christ today. Question:Is it faith if we dont do anything with it? In Christ, lionheart |

Nilita2290, Greetings and welcome to the forum.Adultry is adultry know matter what. I dont know if this an actual situation you or someone else is dealing with. I will say this,we are commanded to forgive as we have ourselves have been by God. Look at Matthew 5:27-30 James 1:13-20 give us a good picture of what our hearts attitude should be when we are dealing with sin be it our own or someone elses. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

308 | Doesn't exist anymore - Scriptures? | 1 Corinthians | lionheart | 170175
JeffBradt, Goodmorning brother and welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn and share faith,it has been of immence value to my faith and walk with God. I pray that it will be for you also. A quick response to Martha's post that you were replying to, Tongues was never uninteligable babble, look at the first line of 1 Corinthians 13:1. This has been a much discussed issue in the christian community for many years. What many forget is that when these things were taking place much of the Gospels and the New Testament had yet to be penned. So tongues and the other manifestations were Gods evidence to other believers and those hearing the Apostles message that what was being preached was from God. 1 Corinthians 13:9-13 will shed some light on this subject. This passage bares carefull study and consideration and I believe if we can approach things with a 2 Timothy 2:15,2 Peter 1:20,21 heart we can and will view subjects like this and others much more clearly. In Christ, lionheart |

309 | Are we to expect unity? | Gal 3:28 | lionheart | 169966
WOS, Yes to both questions. The sciptures you refered to state it plainly. When it comes to the body of Christ there is no us and them. Ephesians 4:3-6 is pretty explicite too. I'm with you on this one. In Christ, lionheart |

313 | Decisional regeneration? | Acts 2:38 | lionheart | 169728
CDJB, Goodmorning brother.I couldnt agree with you more. Acts 2:38 clearly sets the framework regarding salvation. We dont just pray Jesus into our hearts.Paul and the other Apostles were very clear where salvation is concerned. People dont have the luxury of ignoring one part of scripture at the expence of another. We gotta make sure we're looking at the big picture. In Christ, lionheart |

315 | Church of Christ --- A cult?? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 169594
calmrage, Cult or not.Nothing can justify what happened to this person.People are so ready to play the cult card all the time.I for one find it quite distastefull. If people spent a fraction of the time being 2 Timothy 2:15 disciples of Jesus Christ and no time pointing fingers and chopping people down there would not be these kind of accustions flying around so frequently. Johns epistles give us clear picture of who is of God and who is not.No dis on you here. God's Word does plenty to shed light on things like this. We just gotta ensure that we dont put a shade over the lamp. In Christ, lionheart |

316 | Partnership in business... | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 169573
Mabudachi, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This verse while it carries application to whom we marry I believe it also carries much godly council when it comes to alliences and friendships we may enter into. The best advice I can give you at this point in time is to not enter anything that will require you to compromise Godly principle. Study through the Old Testament it's Chock full of Gods heart and commandments regarding whom his people should and should not allie themselves with. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

317 | Paul our pattern to follow, not Jesus? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 169526
Bereaniam, Is there more than one Jesus Christ (Son of God) to be preached? Ephesians 4:4-7 makes it crystal clear what he and the other Apostles were preaching and teaching. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 tells us all scripture is profitable. Give consideration to Romans 15:4 also. In Christ, lionheart |

319 | Revelation Chapter 1 to 3 | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 168920
GotJesus2, Good question,You could say both.As I stated in my first posting to your original question this was a time in the first century church when they were undergoing extreme persecution, yes John was addressing the conditions in the church at that time, these same issues are still issues in todays church,so there is still wide application for today also. People ask many times when are the last days, you could say we have been in the last days since Pentecost. So yes Revelation is prophetic about the end times. We can be confident and take heart that the ultimate victory will be God's and those who have stood faithful to him will be richly rewarded.Revelation is an awesome book filled with much wisdom and hope for God's people. In Christ, lionheart |

320 | Revelation Chapter 1 to 3 | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 168854
GotJesus2, A good rule of thumb in answering questions like this one is in knowing when it (Revelation) was written and to whom it was addressed. During this time the church was undergoing extreme persecution. John wrote Revelation to encourage the church during this time of persecution and to ensure Gods people of His and our ultimate victory. I heard someone say along time ago that evil usually wins unless good is very very good. It may have seemed that way to many back in the first century church and it may seem that way today at times. Revelation was written to encourage believers other wise. God is still soverign and his victory is assured. In Christ, Gye |
