321 | The power of faith | Mark 11:23 | lionheart | 168848
Jason, Hebrews 11:6- And without faith it is impossible to please Him,for he who comes to God must believe that he is,and that he is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Faith is a dynamic that applies to every aspect of our lives. I believe that God wants us to have goals and dreams. They are part of what drives us as humanbeings.Thats why It becomes vitally important for us ti naintane a godly focus every day. The whole of Hebrews 11 is an excellent model of the exercising of faith. In Christ, lionheart |

323 | ... | Is 43:10 | lionheart | 168610
Maearl, Ephesians 4:4-6,The key word in this passage of scripture is one (heis-single). God's Word clearly states what is and whats not.Why do people persist in trying to interject there own beiief systems into the bible. There is nothing pick and choose about God or His Word. We got exactly what God chose to convey to those he revealed His Word to and thats what we have now. Nothing more nothing less. We either believe 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17 2 Peter 1:20,21 1:3 or we dont. You dont get to pick whats true and whats not.God has already done that. You get to choose to believe or not, thats it. When people interject there own belief systems into the bible then you dont have the bible anymore.Gods Word has always stood on it's own and always will no matter what one chooses to believe. Why complicate everything by adding our own two cents worth? God got the job done and thats good enough like it or not. In Christ, lionheart |

324 | How can any man teach or preach or write | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 168602
mother and child, Chapter and verse please,Read 2 Peter 1:20,21 and 2 Timothy 2:15 and then come back and tell how you arrived at the conclusion you just stated. How do you get this out of John 10:8? Jesus does not refer to his second comming here. Your statement here is out of place and out of context. 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; Read verse 17 also, Gods Word is teachable. He wants us to preach it and teach it. What was Jesus telling the disciples in Matt 28:18-20? What happened On Pentecost in Acts chapter 2? Please believe me,I'm not picking on you here. As diciples of Jesus Christ we have been given something very special and very preciouse. Paul tells us in Corinthians that we are ambassadors for Christ. We carry hope for a lost and dying world. We can teach it,we are commanded to teach it,we must teach it. It is incumbent on us to let God's Word speak for itself and keep our flesh out of it. Dear heart we have the most awesome and great privilege of beeing able to share Gods Word and help lead people to Christ. God did not send us out with somrthing that was closed or sealed, but with something (His Word)open for all to see and hear. In Christ, lionheart |

Dear believer, I would like to say this to you right up front,I am highly relatable to your situation and my heart goes out to you. I want to encourage you to get whatever help you need,God would have you do nothing less.My biggest advice to you at this time is to stay close to God and His people. Dont try and go this alone. Take to heart Matthew 28:20 where Jesus tells us that he is with us always. We will be dealing with sin till Jesus comes back or He takes us home, whichever comes first. Check out 1 John 1:9. We can do this everyday. God is faithful, even when we arent. 1 John 3:1 this is what God thinks of you, dont let anyone talk you out of that. 326 | Homosexual debate at school help please | 2 Cor 4:4 | lionheart | 168391
the shadow provs the sunshine, Greetings and welcome to the forum. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us all scripture is God breathed. 2 Peter 1:20,21 men may have wrote it but God is the author. Every book from Genesis to Revelation is inspired of God and is equally accurate and true. People and times may change but Gods Word doesnt.Start at Leviticus 18:22. There are a number of New Testament passages that are equally valid. Romans Chapter one. 1 Corinthians 6:9. The thing to remember is that Gods Word never changes. You will get different arguements, but any response you give must be rooted and grounded in Gods Word. There have been a number of good responses to your question. Above all, however you respond do it out of love.(Agape) Love the person but in no way compromise godly principle. In Christ, lionheart |

WingsofAngels, Godbless you dear sister,it has always been peoples heart to be critical.People will oft times will read our lives before ever picking up a bible. People will make judgements about God based on what they see in us. Romans 3:23 tells us we've all fallen short. We are all under the same sentence, the thing that differentiates you and I from your friend at this present time is that you and I have Gods gift of grace in his precious Son our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and thats where you want to get your friend to. A couple of things here dear heart. 1. Let him see the Christ in you living in what you do.Colossians 1:27. 2.Jesus tells us to let the light shine Matt 5:16. Walk in such a way that it's clearly evident what your all about. That doesnt mean ya gotta be perfect. It's just not doable for us at this time. But when we are walking the talk consistently people will respond to that in one way or another. Read Isaiah 55:11 it will help give you some perspective. Keep being his friend, keep praying for him. Just make sure you are gaurding your heart and getting lots of advice from fellow believers. It might even be best if the brothers get in there with him and try and build a friendship with him and work with him.He will either respond or not.In any case then you have done what you can. I'll remember you and this boy in my prayers. Keep the faith dear. In Christ, lionheart you |

328 | How would you respond to their claim? | Romans | lionheart | 168201
John, You know how Paul talks about disputable matters in Romans 14. We will always have them. But there is one thing that is not disputable.Where God and His Word are concerned truth is absolute whether anyone believes or not. This is why we need to be able to approach people on a heart level.Because the vast majority of the time in spite of the arguements thrown at us it's not the argument in and of itself,it's an underlining heart issue. When we we learn to look beyond the in your face arguments that we will encounter and get to a persons heart because thats where the real answer is then we can help people deal with what there core issue really is. It's usually the heart that is the reason and not necessarily argument itself. The argument can many times can be a smoke screen for whats going on in ones heart. Keep on holding it forth. 329 | The Gospel and Postmodernism | Romans | lionheart | 168182
John, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I'm not totally up on some of the philosiphies and arguments that get thrown at us,but the greatest weapon we have today as it was in the days of the prophets and apostles is Gods Word. Look at Hebrews 4:12. It may help to know what the other guy believes, but the most effective counter to any argument given us is Gods Word and thats where we gotta make our stand every time. Romans chapter one gives attention to many of these issues. Romans 1:21-24. This has always been mans problem. We always have it in our minds that we can build a better mouse trap.We all know that theory is fatally flawed. If we are to take a stand it has to be on Gods Word. Scriptures such as 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20,21 have gotta be bedrock for us or we are not going make progress with anyone. After any argument or speculation it all must come right back to God and His Word. I think many times we get ourselves confused and in trouble because we attack things intelectualy instead of dealing with people on a heart level and ultimately the heart of man is the crux of the whole issue. So John dont loose heart, The apostle Paul tells us that Gods Word is not without effect. Isa 55:11 tells us that his Word acomplishes what he sent it to do. It gets results. We just gotta keep preaching it and teaching it. We can plant and water, but it's God that will bring the increase. So dont be discouraged,it may be the ninth inning the bases are loaded and there are two outs but ya gotta know that God is going to put the ball out of the park. When all is said and done God will win the day to His glory and our benifit. In Christ, lionheart |

330 | Is it okay to date a nonbeliever? | 2 Cor 6:14 | lionheart | 168169
dickesonan, Greetings and welcome to the forum. The bible is very specific when it comes to his people and relationships. God encourages us to have friendships inside and outside the kingdom. Many great opportunities for wittness and outreach can result from friendships that we develope. But when it comes to things like dating relationships God is adament that we not enter into them with non christians. God was specific about the Isrealites not intermarrying with the local inhabitents. He new for them to do so would endanger thier relationship with him. You see God is thinking of us and He's thinking of those he puts in our life. Be a friend to this boy, encourage him.Has anyone shared thier faith with him.If he's open to the Word then there can be consideration at a future time. But if he's not open then you have to be firm about things. Christians and non christians dating cant be a consideration. Enjoy the life God has given you right now.Cherish the friendships you are going to make.Put God first.Matt 6:33. God will not forget us you can count on that. Let not your heart be troubled. In Christ, lionheart |

331 | reading the bible | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 167842
NightJay0044, Good evening brother. The message conveyed by the bible as a whole is and should be taken literaly, I agree with CDBJ though, within that message are many figures of speach, symbolisms, orientalims, metephore and the such.Much of Jesus teaching was done via the parable. One instance that comes to me is where Jesus tells us of faith and moving mountains. Now I've never heard of anyone moving mountains, but I can testify to this-It took faith to move mountains to get me into the kingdom. 2Timothy 3:16 tells us that all scripture is God breathed and that it's profitable,be it literal or metaphoric,Gods Word carries life application to everything we are and do in this life and that to come. guided_spirit, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Verse 15 here is vital for us in our understanding of God and his plan for our salvation. Here we see the first messianic prophecy. One word in this passage sets the whole thing up. Thats the word seed, one simple little word and satans fate is seeled. A little 4 letter word and the old bird is done. Notice when the the word seed is used, your seed, her seed. If we know anything about biology then we know that it's the male that has the seed. The female has no seed, yet here we see clearly that it says HER SEED. So we ask ourselves where did it come from? Hmmm? So simple yet so powerful and dynamic. Right here and we are barely 3 chapters into and we have Gods answer to the whole thing.(Jesus.) I love it,so simple yet so final. Keep reading my friend there's more to come. You'll be thrilled, you'll be chilled, inspired ect.ect ect. As we search through Gods Word we can not help but be inspired and encouraged. In Christ, lionheart |

334 | friend, a homosexual, what do you do | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 167319
johnpastors, Your situation is a familiare one. It raises alot of questions in our hearts and minds. Do we break off the friendship? Do I keep my distance? I only had to go back to my salvation to understand that God loved me,it was the sin that he hated.I've learned over time that we can love people and not buy into their lifestyle. The best thing you can do for now is having your friend seeing the Word living in you. Share your faith with this person, pray for this person, pray with this person.Be a friend. The time may come when you may have to leave your friend to his/her devices. Jesus told the apostles not to cast their pearls before swine. So it is also for us in our day and time and it's a decision we will have to make at various points in our own life. It doesnt mean we give up on people,it does mean we do the godly thing and sometimes that may seem harsh and hardline, but at times that may be the most kind loving thing we can do for people. If we truly love people as Jesus loved and still loves us then we will ask the hard questions, even if they dont want to hear it and we dont want to say it. There is no xyz formula for your friend. It's the same formula that you and I had to apply our lives when we became disciples of Jesus Christ. That formula is Jesus. The best thing I can say to you here is, be the man of God that He's called you to be.In the end that can be what will help win your friend to Christ. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

335 | eyeglasses biblically correct? | Romans | lionheart | 167231
betsyann, Welcome to the forum. this will not be directed so much to you as it is to those who make such absurde statements. Read Romans chapter 14 carefully, It delves into what we might call disputable matters. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, What would Paul say to this person in reference to what this perons comment to you? I would be quite interested in what this person thinks it is to fully trust God? Because if I am to take this persons statement as rock solid, bedrock truth, then none of us are fully trusting God. Read that 2 Corinthians 12 passage I refered to earlier. These bodies that God has so graciously given us are going to experience challenges and trials where our health is concerned, wheather we are in sin or not, wheather we are walking closely with God or are struggling in our relationship with him. The question we need then ask is do we beleive what God told Paul is True today. Do we beleive Gods grace is sufficient for us in every situation.Dear heart, wear those glasses without any sence of trepidation or doubt. God will will his will in your life no matter what and ya know something, whatever that may be it will be the absolute best where He and those who place their faith and trust in him are concerned. The bottom line is that God wants us close to Him dear heart and because we may be sick or frail in some respects does not mean we are not close to God. Philippians 4:13 everyday my sister! In Christ, lionheart applicable to us today |

336 | Not able to Teach ! | Titus 3:2 | lionheart | 167146
Grace7044, You pose a very valid question. We all have God given talents, teaching and instruction being one of many. We all have a gift or talent. Paul tells us in Romans to use the talents and gifts that God has given us. 2 Timothy 2:15,3:16,17, Colossians 3:16 become vital for all of us. In a matter of speaking we are all teachers, it may not be what we are specificly called to but in one way or another we do be it in sharing our faith,in discipling relationships that we may enter into. We even see this reflected in Jesus great commission to the apostles in Matthew 28:18-20. God puts people in certain positions for a reason,we as disciples of Jesus Christ must lend support and encouragement when ever and where ever as opportunity presents itself. Even those who teach need teaching, so it goes none of us will ever get it done on our own. In Christ, lionheart |

338 | How are Job and his friends the same? | Job | lionheart | 166923
mystudy, Welcome to the forum. We could point to a few things they may have in common. But Job 1:1 gives us a very clear picture of Jobs character. Jobs friends may have been well intentioned in there efforts to get into Job's life but that's not where there hearts were at. This is reflected in God's response to their attitudes in dealing with Job. Job 42:7-9 Now while Job may not have been perfect throughout this whole series of events and challenges we do see though that even though when his wife and many of those who called themselvea his friends were telling him to curse God and die. Satan even stood before God acuessing Job. But God knew Jobs heart of hearts and we see where Job wrestled with God through this whole time and refused to walk away. We see how Jobs end was better than it's beginning and Gods grace and mercy when dealing with our sinfull hearts. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

339 | not all should want to be teachers-they | James 3:1 | lionheart | 166918
andyand, Greetings and welcome to the forum. James 3:1 may not directly address ones desire to be a teacher, but what it does tell us here though is that those of us who are teachers are going to be held to a higher standard,it also calls all of us to accountability for what we teach,. Thus 2 Timothy 2:15. In Christ, lionheart. |

340 | Lordship | Matt 28:19 | lionheart | 166582
EASYBOYJ, Matt 28:19 pretty much tells us what ther focus was to be,and that was to all nations, during Jesus time the jews expected that the messiah would restore the nation (Isreal) they were looking at things from more of political viewpoint rather than a spiritual one. They were looking for one that would drive thier oppressers(the Romans) out and restore them to thier former position. It even took the apostles time to get this on straight as evidenced by the passage of scripture you refer to. In light of Matthew 28:18-20 is there or should there be an ethnocentric focus? In Christ, lionheart |
