341 | THERE WERE PEOPLE ELSEWHERE? | Gen 4:14 | lionheart | 166579
TWOANGELIC, A pretty accurate statement I would say unless Cain wasnt all there, granted he was dealing with a very intense situation here. His whole life and relatonship with God had been undoubtedly changed,so I would say that Genesis 4:14 makes things fairly explanitory. In Christ, lionheart |

342 | who is Theophilus? | Acts 1:1 | lionheart | 166516
histouch, Welcome to the forum. There are two schools of thought on this one,Luke was either refering to a specific individual who's identity is not made known as of this time 0r the christian reading it. Theophilus can be translated dear to God. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

343 | How do I let go of hatred? | Matt 6:15 | lionheart | 166502
chell20013, Greetings and welcome to the forum.I want to encourage you to continue to seek out godly council. Heed godly council. The bible tells us that much advice ensures sucsess. Proverbs is an excellent resource regarding wisdom and council. My heart goes out to you as I came out of similar circumstances a number of years ago. Today my ex wife and I are both disciples of Jesus Christ. God has shown both of us an extreme amount of Grace and mercy. My ex played a big part in my comming to the Lord. The one thing we both had to learn though is that to forgive is not necessarily to forget. What it does mean though is that we can move on and not have our lives dominated by past hurts. When we dwell on those hurts then we havent truly forgiven. Forgiveness goes far beyond mere lip service. When we dont forgive we place ourseves and our loved ones in jepordy. The bible tells us that love covers a multitude of sin. One of the best things I can tell you at this point is to love your kids and love your father inlaw too. That may seem like a tall order. 1 John tells us that we love Him because he first loved us. See God took the iniative and so must we. When we love others as God has loved and still loves us then we can truly let go and let God. This will impact your children as well as your father inlaw. Read Romans also,I'm presently working my way through it. It tells us so much about Gods grace and we need all we can get. But His Word also tells us that God that God will supply our need Phil 4:19. With God all things are possible dear heart. In Christ, lionheart |

344 | denominational bias? | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 166316
chris4him, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Brad wasnt saying Jesus and baptism didnt make any sense. What he did say was that the statement didnt make any sense in relation to the subject line which was regarding the inspiration of the bible. When it comes to things such as the person of Jesus Christ and subjects like baptism the bible is quite clear. The questions we gotta ask ourselves is are we willing to be 2 Timothy 2:15 disciples of Jesus Christ? 2 Timothy 2:15 and 2 Peter 1:20,21 are these scriptures guiding principle when it comes to our study and understanding of God and His Word? Think about it. In Christ, lionheart |

345 | The meaning behind James 2:14 | James 2:14 | lionheart | 166139
AndyM, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This has been a much discussed topic here on the forum. Read through the context of this passage James 2:14-26 you will find the greek word pistis used here, pistis is an action verb. Many times people will link faith and mental ascent. Mental ascent faith is not. What we do evidences our faith or lack of it, Philippians 2:12 will also add some persective to this subject also. In Christ, lionheart |

346 | long term mixture of faith and unbelief? | James 1:15 | lionheart | 166071
susiepanda, Welcvome to the forum. First of all I will recomend that you go back and read Gen 15-18, these chapters will give you good perspective on the hearts of Abraham and Sarah. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith and undbelief dont coexist together, what I'm trying to say is that we we cant have faith with a little unbelief mixed in,because then it's not faith anymore. We know what a little levin does to bread, with time it goes through the entire loaf,so ot is with faith and unbelief. But dont be discouraged either. We all deal with unbelief. Many times on a daily basis. But thanx be to God we dont have to stay there. We can repent,we can have strong discipling relationships, pray,Gods Word.We dont have to stay in a state of unbelief ever. Unbelief itself will never result in anything good.Granted God can take the worst of times and work the best,it's up to us to do our best with what He has given us. Phil 2:12 In Christ, lionheart |

347 | The ingathering of Israel? | Matt 24:31 | lionheart | 166067
Hey Mark, Godbless you buddy. I will answer a question with a question here. The OT does speak of the return of the Isrealites to Isreal and I believe that is part of Gods plan for us. My question here regarding Matthew 24:31 is as things stand today are we not all Gods elect ( Jew and gentile who confess Christ as Lord and Savior.)? So could we be talking about all believers and not just Isreal? In Christ, lionheart |

348 | faith in the truth | Matt 24:6 | lionheart | 165755
Shythiyl, Greetings. We all are called by God to share our faith.Matt 28:18-20 We preach it,we teach it,and most of all we strive to live it. John 6:44 No one can come to Me,unless the Father who sent Me draws him;and I will raise him upon the last day. Isa 55:11 Gods Word gets results no matter what. People may tell us to take a hike, but believe this, the time and effort is not futile. The people we reach out to make a decision to do something with what we share with them, negitve or positive. That person will never be the same again. We plant the seed God will be the one to bring the fruit. Keep preaching it God will bring the fruit into the barn. PS; Let not your heart be troubled. In Christ, lionheart |

350 | Us (saved)or chosen people(Jews) | Gal 3:28 | lionheart | 165577
tashyina, Greetings and welcome to the forum. A very good question, one that should be clearly understood. It's clear in the OT that the Isrealites would be the ones that he would reveal Himself to the world through. But we see even before the insception of the Gospel how God said that all nations (Isa.) would be blessed. We see this clarified in Romans and solidified as stated in Galations 3:25,29. There are other passages of scripture throughout Pauls Epistles. This is a dynamic and rich subject that truly addresses who we are in Jesus Christ. In Christ, lionheart |

351 | Did my dad go to heaven or hell? | Matt 18:3 | lionheart | 165445
tyronesedeno, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Tyrone my heart goes out to you. My dad passed away back in October of 1982. Based on what I know now I have my doubts that my dad is in heaven. I wasnt saved then. I love and respect my dad to this day. There are times it grieves my heart to think of my dad,but in my ten years as a christian I'm learning that Gods grace and mercy go far beyond I know or can ever think in this life time.In times when I'm having doubts I hold Ephesians 3:20 close to my heart. None of us knows exactly what the future holds for us, but we can look to it with joy knowing that his blessed promise of eternity with him awaits us. Ya know Tyrone we will see and I'm sure of it, folks in heaven that we never would think of in this present time. God knows your heart and he knows mine and we both have a DAD that wants the best for us. Take heart and know that God is good. In Christ, lionheart |

352 | Burnt human offering from 'godly' man? | Judg 11:31 | lionheart | 165180
Joanne G, Greetings and welcome to the forum,Read the Genesis Chapter 22 Account of Abraham and Isaac. This may offer some clarity to the account of Judges 11. Also look at Leviticus 18:21. It is unlikely although we dont know for sure that Jepthah offered his daughter as a human sacrifice. When we get into any kind of involved bible study we will eventually come across something that may not be clear or may present some problems in our understanding. When we do it becomes important for us to view these passages of scripture in light of the clear ones regarding that instance or subject. When we do this then we are able to see things much easier. I hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

353 | what is the difference between ver 2:17 | Acts 2:17 | lionheart | 165171
fro5bite, You were quite clear in your question,Edwins answer to you was right on the money.Acts 2:17,18 are connected, they are inclusive of what Peter is quoting from Joel 2:28-32. Take these verses in context of what Peter is preaching in Acts 2. Verse 18 is not something seperate but part of the same picture. In Christ, lionheart |

356 | How do we love God? | John 15:10 | lionheart | 164886
van, You are correct when you say that there is more, check out John chapter 15 with attention to vs.10 and 1 Samuel 15:22, Ecclesiastes 12:13 pretty well sum things up. This is not meant to be legalistic,It's simple and when taken in light of 2 Timothy 2:15,3:16,17 it all falls into place. In Christ, lionheart |

357 | What is he time frame of Melchizedek? | Genesis | lionheart | 164878
Lelah-Ann, God bless you and welcome to the forum. A good question.I had not given it a lot of thought,Melchizedek even though we dont hear a whole lot about him but he is a very important figure in biblical history, particularly in light of Hebrews 5:6. So I cracked the books last night and my best guesstimate here and I wont etch this in stone, but appears to be between 1,000 and 1,900 B.C. This is best guess on my part, there are others who are far more knowledgeable in this area than myself and they may be able to help you also. In Christ, lionheart |

358 | Arguing the inspiration of the Bible | 2 Tim 3:16 | lionheart | 164866
haasdijk, Welcome to the forum. How about the scriptures themselves. 2 Timothy 3:16,17 2Peter 1:20,21. Ther can be no stronger claim than that of the scriptures themselves. There can be no stronger argument than that of the author (GOD) himself. No arguement we can present or bring can stand up to what God has brought us in His Word. In Christ, lionheart |

360 | Ark Of the Cov. under Egyptian Rule | OT general | lionheart | 164845
Rylaha, Greetings and welcome to the forum. The OT gives a pretty good account of the Ark's travels and dispositions. I did a little research and it appears that the Ark was lost in 587 BC. when the babylonians destroyed Jerusalem. When the second temple was built there is no rcord that I know of the Ark being returned to the temple and there is no record I'm aware of that the Egyptians ever had anything to do with the Ark.
