421 | Proove that Jesus was the son of God | Titus 2:12 | lionheart | 153209
Greetings KTQ and welcome to the forum.Titus 2:12,13 states things quite clearly. The Gospels present numerous references to Jesus and his identity. The main problem you may encounter with people will be there denial that Bible is the inspired word of God. Because any ground you have to stand is going to be the result of what you gain from God and his Word. In Christ, lionheart |

422 | How do you even begin to witness? | 1 John 5:7 | lionheart | 153124
Samantha, Dearest sister you are not alone in having these kind of feelings. Know that as you grow in your relatioship with God you will grow in confidence with how you live your daily life. Philippians 4:13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Take this verse to heart, make it a daily watchword for your life. Take a look at Ephesians 3:20. There are so many ways we can share our faith. There isn't any one method to sharing your faith. As you evidence a changed life that is going to be a wittness in itself.Your friends will see and you will be able share with them what God is doing in your life. Dont be afraid to let people see who and what you are. Most people will respect that. God will always have your back. He'll give you what you need for every situation. Just remember this, you never stand alone. Read Romans chapter 8 it will greatly encourage you. In Christ, lionheart |

423 | coed sleepovers | 1 Thess 5:22 | lionheart | 153037
conn88h, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This seems to have been somewhat of a topic over the last week or so.My friend take it from a brother who made these mistakes in his younger days.Dont get me wrong anyone of any age can get lured into this kind of a situation. Knowone is immune to this kind of thing. It's just not worth it to put ones self in harms way.Once we compromise this part of our life we can never go back.Thank God for his grace though,we can start over again,God wipes the slate clean when we repent and come to Him with a humble heart. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 is quite apropo here. Wouldnt it be simpler (not easier) to trust God and abide by his Word. We gotta believe God has our best interest at heart.Romans 8:28,29 Jerimiah 29:11. Not a bad deal wouldnt ya say. So the now we gotta ask ourselves is what are we his sons and daughters going to settle for? Do we make Gods Word the standard by which we live or will we take the easy way out? 424 | What is the AKJV? | 1 John 5:7 | lionheart | 152910
Greetings cloud, AKJV-Authorized King James Version. 2 Timothy 3:15 tells us that all scripture is God inspired.(God breathed AKJV). 2 Peter 1:20,21 tells us that God is the Author.Hebrews 1:3,Titus 2:13 pretty much disproves any denial of the diety of Jesus Christ. I would place no credence to anything that so obviously contradicts the Bible. You cannot accept Jesus and not acknowledge his divinity. Therefore no Jesus no salvation. In Christ, lionheart |

425 | How bible instruct leaders or individual | 2 Tim 2:15 | lionheart | 152907
Dear Phyllis, The question you pose is one often brought up where discipleship is concerned. It's important to understand that discipleship is about relationships and not one person having authority over another.Jesus provided us with the perfect example of relationship building. Part of this starts with 2 Timothy 2:15 being workmen of Gods Word.Hebrews 3:12,13 intstructs us to encourage each other on a daily basis.Getting godly counsil is vital Prov 11:14,12:15,13:10,15:22. None this means a thing if we dont have hearts that are willing to be taught. I had someone ask me once, are you teachable or unreachable? More food for thought. Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

426 | Is the AKJV the true word of God? | Mark 16:18 | lionheart | 152599
Malley, Greetings dear sister.I grew up reading the KJV, there is only one true Word of God,but that is not in reference to any particular version or translation of the Bible. The true Word of God is in reference to how he gave it to us.2 Peter 1:20,21 2 Timothy 3:15-17 The NASV is an outstanding translation I use this and the NIV for a lot of my studies. The Bible was originaly written in aramaic, hebrew, and greek. It is these manuscripts that the Bibles we read today are translated from.Malley you will always have my prayers. You are never alone, You have Christ in you.Colossians 1:27Make fellowship with the brothers and sisters a priority.God never intended for any of us to be lone rangers. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |

427 | Biblical, cultural or both? | Mark 16:18 | lionheart | 152558
malley, God bless you and welcome to the forum.2 Timothy 3:12 tells us that as we look to live godly lives with Jesus Christ being the central focus we will face persecution. When we take a stand on Gods Word there will be opposition. And oft times it comes from those closest to us.These verses get thrown up a lot. When you view them in lite of Matthew 6:33 they make sense. God never tells us to hate anyone,we hate sin not the sinner.Gods Word contains numerous figures of speach and specific symbolisms. His word will never contradict itself. The best thing, the most loving thing you can do for your family and friends is to stand firm in your faith and on Gods Word.God wants us to put him first.Thats not harsh,it's loving. Everything I am today flows out of my walk with God and keeping him first.God is no slacker. Romans 8:28, Philippians 4:19. Be a 2 Timothy 2:15 disciple of Jesus Christ You wont be disappointed. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |

430 | Do you need to be a Scholar? | Acts 4:13 | lionheart | 151036
Dear Katebote, God bless you. I took a quick peak at your user profile and I just want to share this with you. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God.Faith is the starting point for all that we believe.Reading Gods Word and having knowledge of it are good but without faith and the conviction of Gods Holy Spirit all you have is knowledge.Knowledge wont get you into heaven, faith mixed with that knowledge will. You dont have to be a rocket scientist to know God and His Wod.God only knows that I'm not even close to being in that catagory. It does take faith and a heart to be workman of Gods Word though. 2 timothy2:15. Check out 2Timothy 3;16,17. Being smart doesnt make us right, having a rerlationship with Jesus Christ and being right with God does. In Christ, lionheart |

431 | men who wrote the bible use imagination | NT general Archive 1 | lionheart | 149940

432 | who rules the earth | Gen 1:26 | lionheart | 149418
Greetings pretrib and welcome to the forum. The earth is the Lord,s God is the creator the world is His,you maybe equating ownership and rulership as one in the same. That is not always true.Read (Gen 1:26) this tells how God Gave Adam rulership, authority. When Adam sinned he relenquished that authority. Now,he didn't relenquish that authority back to God. Understand that God didn't give anything up, the aithority Adam had was confired on him by God.Now if he didn't relenquish that authority back to God that leaves us with another possibility. Checkout (Mtt 4:1-11) this will give you somefood for thought. In Christ, lionheart |

433 | Is prayer more effective for the saved? | Is 59:1 | lionheart | 149246
Good day SMO, The prayer of a rightious man is powerful.Take this verse in context with verses 13-15 and you will see that our prayers are a matter of faith and if there is sin involved then God will forgive. Again I will also refer back to Isaiah 59:1. God hears prayer and if he hears he answers, the answer may not be what we expect but there will be an answer. If we dont hear it's because we are not listening. The problem is on our end not Gods. So likelyhood has nothing to do with God answering prayer. How we are doing spiritually can have a bearing on how effective our prayers will be. In Christ, lionheart |

434 | Does God hear the prayers of the lost? | Is 59:1 | lionheart | 149205
xmikx, Greetings,God turns a def ear to no one. It's our sin and unbelief that keep us away from God.There are numerous times in my own life where God answered my prayers. What makes you think God doesnt hear and isnt currently answering your friend's prayers.Part of what moved me to becomming a disciple of Jesus Christ was knowing and trusting that God was hearing my prayers.God hears and answers prayer,it may not always be in the way we expect but he answers nevertheless. God isn't arbitrary in anything he does. What ever God brings about it's always the best for all concerned.Share Isaiah 59:1 with your friend and encourage her that God does hear her prayers. This is a time that you can encourage her and show her that she needs God and that she needs to get right with God and Jesus Christ is the only way that can ever happen.Encourage her that God loves her. This is a real opportunity for you and your wife to minister to your friend. All of you will be in my prayers. IN Christ, lionheart |

435 | Jesus Wept - (Jn.11:35) | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 148814
Greetings Bobby and welcome to the forum. I grew up during an era where as boys growing up that men just dont cry. How hurtfull. It's taken me a lot of years to overcome that teaching. People are so fearfull of being vulnerable with there hearts. But thats how God wants us to be. He will help us to gaurd our hearts,we need not concerne ourselves with what others will think, who knows that by alowing ourselfs to open and vulnerable what doors we may help open for other people as well as enabling God to work in our own lives. There is no shame in tears. In Christ, lionheart |

436 | denominations. | Eph 4:3 | lionheart | 148728
Brother, I dont know if I could have stated this any better than you did.I really cant find any justification for denominations.Man constantly mucks things up by putting his own twist on things. It's taken God raising up true men of God to bring people back to the standard of Gods Word.We have ample evidence of this even today. There is one church(I refer to all born again beleivers of Jesus Christ.)We may be spread all over the planet but all one church with a whole bunch of parts. (Eph 4:3-6) One seems to be the common thread here and I think Jesus was quite specific about this as well. In Christ, lionheart |

437 | WHAT DOES 2PETER1:4 MEAN AND IS THERE A | Gen 1:26 | lionheart | 148393
2 Peter 1:4 (Amplified) By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promisses,so that through them you may escape(by flight)from the moral decay(rotteness and corruption)that is in the world because of covetousness(lust and greed)and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature. In this case I really like this version because it leaves little to the imagination. Now go to(Genesis 1:26,27) this passage fits very well with 2 Pt 1:4,it matches up very well.Understanding this passage will shed a lot of light on the verse you are asking about. Also refer to (Col 3:9,10 James 3:9) these verses will help offer some more clarity on things for you.Hope this helps. In Christ, lionheart |

439 | What do you mean by "you allow"? | Acts 2:4 | lionheart | 148320
Greetings Brother, Jesus told the disciples that when he went back to the father that he would send the Holy Spirit who would guide and teach them. (Acts 2:4)says they began to speak in tongues as the Spirit enabled them. This was the evidence to the people of what Jesus had promised all who would accept him as Lord and saviour. The key word here is enabled.God enabled them it doesnt say God spoke for them but enabled them to speak. In (1 Cor12) the word manifestation is used (phanerosis )- manifestation, disclosure, revelation, setting forth plainly.God enabled them to speak,it was up to them to speak. God never overides ones free will. He may bring some serious heat to get our atenttion, but it's up to individuals to respond to and act on Gods leading. (2 Peter 1:21) says that men spoke from God as they were moved or in some transelations it says carried along by the Holy Spirit. It wasnt God moving there mouth and lips,It wasnt God moving there hands to write his Word.It was the Holy Spirit moving and working in there hearts what to speak and write. God is the author but they had to write, they had to speak. When we were saved, born again of Gods Spirit we recievd the full measure of Gods Holy Spirit. We have no more or no less of the Spirit than what we needed. We got the full meal deal when we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and saviour. (2 Peter 1:3) tells us God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. We got the full measure when we were saved. No need for multiple fillings, once was enough. Sorry bro but I had to answer this one, this subject can get quite commplicated but it isn't if we just view things in the light of Gods Word. PS Susan I hope you read this and that it helps. PS Bro if Im not qiute there on any of the points in this post I pray you will set me straight. In Christ, lionheart |
