462 | some people say you must speak in tongue | 1 Cor 12:4 | lionheart | 143993
Dear sister there is no basis in scripture to support speaking in tongues as a requirement to make it to heaven. There is one requirement and one only and that is that Jesus must be Lord and Saviour of your life. Acts 2:38,Romans 10:9,10.Dearheart make it a point to do 2 Timothy 2:15 every day. God doesnt want any of us ignorant and the best way to do that is to pray and get into Gods Word every day, that way when you are confronted with things like this you can know for youself what is and whats not of God. Have faith, you can do this. lionheart |

466 | Are we looking for a way or the Way? | Matt 7:13 | lionheart | 143570
In Genesis 15:1 God tells Abraham Do not be afraid Abram.I am your shield, your very great reward.I dont know if I would look at knowing the Father as a way as much as I would look at it as the way. God is what we get I dont know that it gets any better than that.I guess the big question here now is do we get complacent or do as Paul states in Philippians 2:12 work out your salvation with fear and trembling;13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. I would pray that all of us will be inspired to go above and beyond where our walk with God is concerned. In Christ, lionheart |

467 | Is asking for money false? | 2 John 1:10 | lionheart | 143553
When did asking for charity equate to false teaching? I've known a number of individuals who's only means of support comes from the people and organizations they reach out to.Does this make them false teachers,I think not.Go back and look at post #143547.If this is amatter of what to support or not then do some homework and find out what they are all about. If it's for a godly purpose then give it some thought,if not then you know what to do. 469 | need to know more on Matthew 7:13-14 | Matt 7:13 | lionheart | 143536
SWISSK, Welcome to the forum. We very often as christians because of our stand for God and his Word are accused of being narrow minded.People want to take the easy way to God,their own way. It's never worked. Jesus wasnt narrow minded but he did have a narrow focus thus narrow is the gate. John 14:6-Jesus said to him,I am theway, the truth, and the life;no one comes to the father, but through me. Very specific.Narrow focus yes.Narrow minded, absolutly not! In Christ, lionheart |

475 | what is the heart of man | Bible general Archive 2 | lionheart | 143157
Proverbs 4:23 KJV refers to the heart as the wellspring of life. Proverbs 27:19 Speaks of how the heart reflects the man. When we talk about the heart of man we speak of what makes us,us.Who we are in the inner man. Heart in this usage is the hebrew word leb- meaning the inner person, the seat of thought. There are numerous verses addressing the state of our heart and what we need to do with it. But the references from proverbs here pretty well state what the heart represents.Ro 10:9 that if we believe in our heart kardia-heart,mind(seat of thoughtand emotion.)The heart was the seat of the innerself. I hope this was what you were looking for. In Christ, lionheart |

479 | Accessory to evil | Acts 4:28 | lionheart | 142819
Brother there is a reasonable answer. First what you may want to do is start in Genesis 3:15 this is the first Messianic prophecy and follow the thread through the Old Testament. Then check these verses Jb 31:4,21, Ps 147:5,He 4:13, and 1 Jn 3:20. They speak of the omniscience of God. (God is all knowing)I dont Know that God chose Herod or Pilate,But I do know this, that God had a plan for our salvation and that he knew how that plan would come into being. Any time we come across scripture that seems confusing or unclear it will be brought to light or clarified by other scripture in the bible. Check these things out and this will make alot more sense to you. In Christ, lionheart |

480 | prescription for living, rephrased? | Ps 14:1 | lionheart | 142597
Existence of God may not be the question here, but is it for your friend? Outside of what the bible says there is nothing that exists that would be totaly compatable with what the bible calls for. Isa 55:8 Says our thoughts are not his thoughts, our ways are not his ways (forgive me for the loose paraphrase here.)anyway we cut it here we're gonna come up short.Ro 3:23 Share this with your friend. You might even share Acts 17:26-29. Any way that any of us try to live apart from God is temporary at best. Share this with your friend,it may not be what your friend wants to hear, but it's the best thing you can do for him. He needs God as much as you and I. This is after all what Jesus has called us to do.Matthew 28:19,20. You have a golden opportunity to make a difference in your friends life,Go for it. I hope I'm a little closer to being on the same page with you. In Christ, lionheart |
