202 | Will God put on us more than we can bear | 1 Cor 10:13 | lionheart | 193184
ashelton, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Look at 1 Corinthians 10:13. Look at it closely. It says no temptation has overtaken you. Why do we assume God is the one bringing the temptation. James 1:13 tells us God cannot be tempted by evil and that God doesnt tempt anyone. We will face all kinds of challenges and pressures in this life. 2 Timothy 3:12 tells us there will be persecution. If one is going to live for God this is just one of things we are gonna face. Philippians 4:13 We can do all things through Christ. Hebrews 12:5-11 God will allow things in our life, good or bad. But he will use them to mold and direct our character. As you encounter life's everyday challenges and obsticals always keep Ephesians 3:20 in mind. In Him, lionheart |

203 | Why would God lead us into temptaion? | Matt 6:13 | lionheart | 193039
scoats, James 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted. "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. You've recieved good answers from others regarding this. God alows things to happen and many times he will use things, circumstances, and events to shape, mold or direct our character. Check out Hebrews 12:6-11 I think it will help. In Him, lionheart |

204 | Luke 23:43 where is the thief? | Luke 23:43 | lionheart | 192988
lluvgod, Greetings and welcome to the forum. This has been a topic of some controversy in the past. One thing that can make figuring things out somewhat simpler is to realise back when the original manuscripts were written there were no verse divisions and probably no punctuation, at least not as we know it today. Punctuation has been a source of error and disagreement for years. One thing that may help when you come across passages that aren't clear is to take them in light of those that are clear regarding whatever it is you are studying out. In Him, lionheart |

205 | As Christians what is our role in war | Matt 5:44 | lionheart | 192636
Jon, May I recommend that you do a word study on the words kill and killing. War should be abhorrent to all. It definitely wouldn't be at the top of my list of choices. When one is referring to kill are they referring to murder? Murder is killing but not all killing is tantamount to murder. Do the word study. I dont know how many times over the years I've had people tell me I couln't be a Christian and be in the military. Ya know I got tired of it. Being in the military never had anything to do with wheather I was a Christian or not. Explain to us men of God such as David, The bible tells us David was man after Gods own heart. A military man hmmm... Many men and women Cristian and non christian alike have sacrificed thier lives so that you and I can enjoy the freedoms God has so richly granted us. In Him, lionheart |

206 | Is eating out on Sunday wrong? | Romans | lionheart | 192571
michael03, Greetings and welcome to the forum. Check out Romans chapter fourteen. Paul deals with the subject of disputable matters here and does it quite well I believe. And where disputable matters are concerned we have enough of em. What scriptures does he use to support his position? Does he approach things with a 2 Timothy 2:15 perspective? In or out of context? It can and does make a huge difference when someone is trying to establish a position that is Godly as well as biblical. In Him, lionheart |

207 | Celebrate Recovery | Col 1:9 | lionheart | 192466
strts5, Greetings and welcome to the forum. I'm an alcoholic, addict with 17 years clean and sober come this October. Clean does not equal sober. We can be clean and still not sober. To truly get the sober part on straight takes a relationship with Jesus Christ and even then it takes much trust and faith in God. Recovery is an everyday thing, repentance is an everyday thing. God has brought me to the realization that I'm gonna be in recovery for the rest of my life. That's not so bad though. It does mean that my everyday walk with God is of the utmost importance. Take 1 John 1:9 to heart. We all blow it everyday but we can repent, we can change. God says we can. Philippians 4:13,19 always my friend. In Him, lionheart |

208 | onset of despair in early adulthood | Rom 8:28 | lionheart | 192177
Vinodh, Welcome to the forum, we're glad to have you. What makes you think you are unfit? We will all face challenges of various types and intensity. (James 1:2,3) But it's not the challenges that make anyone unfit. In the long run it's what God thinks of you that carries more weight than anything else. People will tell you one thing but God loved you so much that he gave His Son for you. (John 3:16) The way out is Jesus Christ. (John 14:6)That doesn't mean these things will go away, but with Jesus Christ in your life you have something to fight with. Read Jeremiah 29:11. God has a taylor made plan for each one of us that includes you to. Give this to God and see what he will do. In Him, lionheart |

bottie005, I'll answer both of your questions here. The only provision God mde for divorce was adultry. Matt 19:9. It was always the will of God for those who marry to remain married, it was because of the hardness of mans heart that God made this one provision. Matt 19:1-9. In Him, lionheart |

214 | Peter betrayed Jesus | John 21:15 | lionheart | 191192
Sandra, Good day and welcome to the forum. Part of our old nature is to pull our hearts back when we've been hurt by someone. Jesus is the perfect role model when it comes to our heart and attitude for people. Look at our Lord's approach and attitude towards Peter (John 21:15-19). We gotta ask ourselves is this our attitude of heart. It should be! I think what's helped me allot over the years is remembering all that God has called me out of and forgiven me. It's sure helped me to stay grateful to God for all He's done for me and continues to do to this very day. Hope this helps. In Him, lionheart |

wolfcreek, I want to make something clear to you at this time. You've been given solid advice by a number of the brothers here on the forum and have yet to take any of it. This is not a personal attack on you. You ask allot of questions but answer none. The forum operates on the principles of honesty, integrity and a desire to learn more of God and His Word and grow in our walk with Him. As well as encouraging one another. What do you want to do, what is your purpose in being here? What's it gonna be? In Him, lionheart |

217 | Should we attend all church services? | Bible general Archive 3 | lionheart | 191117
wolfcreek, Welcome to the forum. You ask allot of questions and that's alright, I have allot of em too. One thing that helped me out was to ask one question at a time and allow folks to respond, you will be more likely to get answers to your questions. Then you can move on to the next one. It'll make things simpler for you and those who want to help you. When you registered to participate on the forum you will have noticed a character profile. It's an opportunity to tell us a bit about yourself and you can access character profiles of others who participate here on the forum. That way you can get to know some of us as individuals. Also I would remind you to review the terms of use regarding age if you havent already done so. In Him, lionheart |

218 | marrage and fornication | Gen 2:24 | lionheart | 191115
Yesenia, Welcome to the forum. There isn't anything made up where the bible is concerned. Oft times God clarifies things for us by stating purpose or function. Genesis 2:23,24 is a good example. Read Deuteronomy 22:13-30, this gives a good and proper illustration of God's attitude where sex and marriage are concerned. In Him, lionheart |

219 | Is foolishness always evident? | Ps 38:5 | lionheart | 190974
stainedcheeks 4, Welcome to the forum. I will say yes to both questions. This may seem a bit confusing, but not really. Things may may not always be evident to us but they can be to those around us. When we we are trying to deal with sin or lifes daily challenges or afflictions our judgement can be clouded. That's why spending time with God everyday is vital. I encourage you to check out 2 Corinthians 1:1-11 it will encourage you in what you may be battling with now. In Him, lionheart |
