181 | The Christian response? | Judg 1:13 | lionheart | 196991
justme, God's day to you. After reading Doc's reply to you I must agree. It constantly amazes me to see those who profess or think we can change the will of God by what we do be it individually or as a nation. Acts 17:26,27 states it very well. God is sovereign, period. Our central responsibility as disciples of Jesus Christ is to heed his call to all of us in Matthew 28:18-20 be it as individuals,,leaders, organizations ect. is to go and preach the Gospel. Circumstances can change but God's will doesn't. What God has set in motion will be as he intended it to be regardless of who may rule at any given time. If people are truly commited to changing the world and seeing God's will then lets do it God's way. We have the blueprint, the master plan right in front of us. We can make a difference, but we gotta do it God's way. In Him, lionheart |

182 | how do you test the spirit | 1 John 4:1 | lionheart | 196802
paulr, We will have allot of things thrown our way in this life and many of em are gonna look good. But! It doesn't mean we jump in and try them out. What John refers to in 1 John 4:1 it does tell us to see where all this fits in according to Gods Word. Then we will know if what we confront is from God or not. May I also refer you to 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17 and 2 Peter 1:20,21. These will give you a clearer picture of how to approach this. In Him, lionheart |

183 | How does God handle a backslider? | Bible general Archive 4 | lionheart | 196257
kingfish, Greetings and welcome to the forum. First of all let me say this get HELP! There is no shame in asking for help. Son I am highly relatable to where your at now. I'm a recovering addict alcoholic of seventeen years. Take a good look at things make sure you got your bible in front of you, get with another believer look at the scriptures about salvation. Where does your life line up now. It took me 35 years to figure out that I was living a lie. I thought and believed I was disciple all those years. It took someone sitting down with me and the bible and telling me nyet, nicht, nine, no. I am now. The only reason I'm sober today and I use that term emphatically is that I never had a relationship with Jesus. Do this son. There's no shame in findng out we were wrong. Better to know for sure than not. Do what you gotta do my friend. In Him, lionheart |

184 | Are there any scriptures in the New Test | Rom 15:4 | lionheart | 196246
melissanakley, Welcome to the forum. Romans 15:4 when referring to to scriptures such as the ones in Leviticus it becomes very important that we today as disciples of Jesus Christ to carefully consider to when and to whom they were addressed at the time. If we don't we get ourselves tied up in needless legalism and controversy. In Him, lionheart |

185 | The Holy Spirit | John 14:12 | lionheart | 195313
NightJay, This can be a highly charged subject, even complicated. But if we will view it within the framework of scripture it becomes much simpler to comprehend and understand. Look at Acts 2:38 as a matter of fact read the whole chapter. Son when you received Christ as Lord and Savior you got the Holy Spirit. Look at Eph 4:4-6. When you were saved you got all the Holy Spirit you will ever get or need. Look at Col 1:27 Christ in you, this what you got when you received Christ. Now in relation to the greater works referred in John 14:12 look at this in relation to Matt 28:18-20. This is the greatness of the greater works referred to In John 14:12. That we can go out today and witness the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. In Him, lionheart |

187 | 1 cor 12:23. what does it mean to a teen | 1 Cor 12:23 | lionheart | 195218
mama grace, Welcome to the forum. I will assume that you are either a teen or the parent of a teen. I got a late start in life and didn't become a disciple of Jesus Christ until I was 43. One of the things that really helped me in the beginning and still does twelve years later is that God has called everyone of us to evangelize the world. We are all evangelists or if as Paul says Ambassadors for Christ. In Relation to Matthew 28:18-20 we all have a part in Gods plan to evangelize the world. The explanations Makarios and Jesusman have given you are excellent. God has placed each one of us wher he wants us. Part of the beauty of this is that God knew that one wouldn't be able to do it without the other. God never created any lone rangers. He knew that we would need each other to make it. So take heart my dear none of us is in this alone. In Him, lionheart |

188 | Definition of "Perfect Will of God" | Ps 115:3 | lionheart | 195082
Lookin4ward2Heavn, Go back through this thread and read the original question and go through the subsequent postings in it. The original question was Can prayer change the perfect will of God? In answer to your question. If God is perfect as stated in the bible then it would go to reason that His will is also perfect. No one can change God's perfect will but our prayers can and do move His heart. In Him, lionheart |

190 | Bible references for prayers | 1 Thess 5:17 | lionheart | 194916
Endie, Welcome to the forum. There have always been allot of questions on what to and how to pray. These days 1 Thessalonians 5:17 comes to mind quite a bit. Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. This seems like a pretty tall order. Not as tall as it may seem though. The Gospels tell us of how Jesus would go out to pray. We see in Psalms how David prayed and where. Do we pray in the morning when we get up, how about before we go to bed? How about when we are out and about. Or how about those nights when we can't sleep. Luke 18:1 tells us how Jesus taught the disciples to pray so that they would not lose heart. Read Luke chapter 11 it offers a good example of how we can structure our prayers. I don't know how much this will help but it's definitely been a source of comfort and encouragement over the years. In Him, lionheart |

194 | So in essence what you are saying is tha | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 194473
Hood Rat, Nope, not at all. Check out Judges 2:10. What I said is that it's new for those who have never heard. Who don't know. You won't know if you haven't heard. This is some thing we deal with in all generations. So as the Word is preached ( forth tell) it's old light but new those who have yet to hear. Once you've heard the Word it's no longer new (unknown) to you. You may not fully understand at the time but now it's not unknown any longer. There will be those who will reject the Gospel but when the time comes they will be without excuse. In Him, lionheart |

195 | But is that relevant for today time sinc | Eph 4:11 | lionheart | 194455
Hood Rat, There has always been allot of confusion and speculation over prophecy and it's relevancy for today. Go back and get into Judges. It tells us right off the bat of a generation that had been born and knew not God or his teachings. We read how God raised up individuals during that time in there history. These individuals were operating on already established principle. But it was new to that generation. So it is today. We have God's Word, well established and true, but new to those who haven't heard. Prophecy is not just foretelling but also forth telling. Old light but new to those who haven't heard. 196 | Was I wrong? | 2 John | lionheart | 194251
Jesus_Keeps_Me, Welcome to the forum. Why did these folks come to you? Were you able to share your faith with them. Verse ten of 2 John tells us not to invite them in. (False Teachers) John tells us not to show hospitality to false teachers. Who were these folks? Were they atheists, Agnostic??? I know brothers who were former atheists who are today standing disciples of Jesus Christ. I think John was referring to those who were teaching a false Gospel. Paul even refers to individuals like this. We were all unbelievers at one time. Was this something they were teaching or were you just dealing with some folks who simply don't believe. In Him, lionheart |

197 | Heb.10:26 | 1 John 1:9 | lionheart | 193832
bream925, Welcome to the forum. You pose a valid question and I pose that with this question, Is there unwillful sin. Go back and read Hebrews 10:26 again and read the context in which it was written. We can repent and must. Often when we talk about willful sin as is in Hebrews 10:26 it can be within the context of one who chooses to stay in thier sin. John mentions in 1 John those who practice sin. We sin everyday. It is in repentance and striving to obey God and His Word and making him the primary focus of our life that we will live the life God has called us to. If a person choose to stay in thier sin they place themselves in jeopardy. In Him, lionheart |

198 | IS BAPTISM IS REQUIRED | Rom 6:3 | lionheart | 193618
Telson, Val's advice to you to check out the Gospels was solid. Mark 16:16 isn't a bad starting point. Jesus was very clear in his teaching of the Apostles where baptism was concerned. In my younger days it was common for people to teach that baptism was an option. Is it? Does it line up with what Jesus taught and told his Disciples to do. Read the Pentecost account in Acts chapter 2. Do you need to be baptised again? Only you and God can answer that one? Go back to when you were baptized and look at the whole experience. Where were you in regards to Acts 2:38. Repentance,(evidenced by a changed life.)and Confession, Ro 10:9,10. Without the first 2 then all we are doing is getting wet. Nothing is accomplished without the first two. Look at your heart and look at the Word and see how they line up. God will make it clear to you. Have a humble heart and do what you need to do. In Him, lionheart |

199 | i need clarification on Exodus 32:27-29 | Exodus | lionheart | 193484
beppy, Welcome to the forum. What clarification are you looking for. What I might recommend here is to read all of Exodus 32. That will help with some of the whats and whys. The reason I'm having you go back and read the entire chapter is that when we look at a verse or passage within the context in which it was written, it will shed light on that particular verse or passage of scripture. You are using a pretty good translation (NIV). The NASB- New American Standard Bible is very reliable also. If you are refering to the Life Application Bible I have one that I use frequently but I would recomend that you get yourself a good Reference/Study bible. There are a number of em out there. I have a couple of Thompson chain reference bibles (NASB,NIV) that have been very usefull. Also obtain a good concordane if you don't have one. ( Youngs Strongs are very good.) Hope this helps. Tim3:16, Brother, Just read your profile. You and I hold much in common. What scripture did the host use to support his or her supposition. I've been invovled with a CR ministry that my church operates and I Co-lead a ministry that I'm also one of the founders that ministers to those who are who are physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually afflicted. It really chaps my hide when I hear folks make statements like this individual made. I am a firm believer in 2 Timothy 2:15 and I think there is huge application even when we deal with secular issues. My doctor has been treating me for depression for over three years now along with a list of other major health issues. Brother let me assure you before I go any further here that I have no issue with you, if anything knowing what little I know you just from your profile I want to encourage you in any way I can. Now back to the subject at hand. There has been research conducted that have prooved that chemical inbalances within the brain can and do cause or impact physical or mental health issues. That's no bragg it's fact. I and many others deal with these issues every of our lives and God gives us victory every single day. Paul and Peter were well aquainted with weaknees and affliction. (2 Corinthians, 2 Peter) Go through these they will encourage you. Fell free to contact me at any time. In Him, lionheart |
