21 | about taking someone to court | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 102995
Dear joelk In one of your previous posts you described the owner of the business as a Christian. Here your description of him seems conflicting to how you previously labeled him. Here you said of him; "The man who owns the business is a very wealthy man ... close friend to the president of U.S. ... lots of power .. not too likely he will give me the time of day." That seems odd. In your previous post you said there was an issue about job discrimination against you. Here you state that you were fired because you witnessed to a fellow employee during lunch and away from work. If that is the case then you should seek recourse from the courts because you were fired unfairly. If that is the only reason you were fired you can report such an incident to a Christian legal organization such as the ACLJ, but their are many others as well. Let us know how things work out for you. Peace to you New Creature |

joelk It just seemed odd to me that in your initial post you described the owner of the company as a Christian, then in your next post you stated that he probably wouldn't give you the time of day. I am not doubting your statements, I'm just trying to put the puzzle together with the pieces you have made available to me. If the man is a Christian as you claim, then I am sure he would give you the time of day, and I'm also sure that if you expressed your concerns to him in a written letter that he would look into your situation. Also in this your third post you now say that you were told that you were fired for lack of sales something you left out of your previous posts. In your first post you stated that you were being discriminated against in the workplace. Then I find out in your next post that you stated that you were fired from your job because you witnessed to a fellow employee, and now in your most recent post you state that you were told that your firing was due to lack of sales. As you can see, new information about your firing is coming forth with each new post from you. But if you feel you were fired because you witnessed to a fellow employee during lunch, then contact the ACLJ on the web. They can be found at: www.aclj.org ACLJ stands for, American Center for Law and Justice, they defend the rights of Christian's Peace to you New Creature |

joelk The following article comes from the ACLJ's web-site. Here is a brief statement by them, concerning their position on the rights of Christian workers in the workplace. ACLJ's Position "Contrary to what many liberal advocacy groups would like, there is no law requiring the workplace to be a religion-free zone. Federal and state laws protect the religious freedoms of employers and employees. Employers can run their business in conformance with godly principles, and employees cannot be forced to act in a manner that conflicts with their religious beliefs. For instance, Christian employers may hold and participate in voluntary chapel services and prayer meetings for employees, and employees can share their faith with co-workers during breaks or free time, so long as it is not disruptive. As our society becomes increasingly more secularized, the ACLJ is regularly asked to advise employers and employees about their right to express their faith in the workplace. The ACLJ is committed to defending the rights of believers in the workplace. Whether it involves the right of a pharmacist to refuse to dispense abortion pills, the right of an employer to pray with willing employees, or the right of a librarian to wear a cross necklace, the ACLJ is on the frontlines against efforts to violate the religious freedoms of believers as employees and employers." you can go to this web-page which can be located at; http://aclj.org/resources/workrts/index.asp Hope this helps you New Creature |

24 | Pledge, "under God", WWJD? | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 105899
"The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws." Tacitus William Henry Seward who served under Abraham Lincoln once said something very important. He said: "There is a higher law than the Constitution." Your question also brings to mind what John F. Kennedy once said; "the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forbears fought are still at issue around the globe - the belief that the rights of man come not from the genorisity of the state but from the hand of God." Finally Abraham Lincoln believed that it is the Constitutional right of the people to overthrow Goverment if they should ever get weary of it. Lincoln said; "This country, with it's institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to desmember or overthrow it." Just some off the wall food for thought for you and others Shalom New Creature |

churchladies; While I don't claim to be an authority on this subject, my thought is: How can faith possibly be demonstrated in the act of suicide. And Secondly, do you think that this would be God's leading for any individual? Thirdly if the Bible says; "Thou shall not kill" then isn't the taking of ones own life a violation of this command? Wouldn't that demostrate a lack of faith and trust in God? (Just something to think about) I would advise anyone considering taking their own life to seek counseling. Blessings New Creature |

33 | Evolution vs. Creation in Today's World | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 133340
On a similar note: “There are only two possibilities as to how life arose. One is spontaneous generation arising to evolution. The other is a supernatural, creative act of God. There is no third possibility. Spontaneous generation that life arose from non-living matter was scientifically disproved long ago by Louis Pasteur and others. That leaves us with only one possible conclusion – that life arose as a supernatural, creative act of God.” I will not accept that philosophically, because I do not want to believe in God. Therefore, I choose to believe in that which I know is scientifically impossible, spontaneous generation arising to evolution.” Dr. George Wald, professor emeritus of biology at Harvard University and Nobel Prize winner in 1971, as he wrote in Scientific American magazine “I had motives for not wanting the world to have a meaning. For myself, as no doubt for most of my contemporaries, the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation. The liberation we desired was simultaneously liberation from a certain system of morality. We objected to the morality, because it interfered with our sexual freedom. We objected to the political and economic system, because it was unjust. The supporters of these systems claim that in some way they embodied the meaning – a Christian meaning, they insisted – of the world. There was one admirably simple method of confusing these people and at the same time justify ourselves in our political and erotic revolt. We could deny that the world had any meaning whatsoever.” Humanist and Atheist Aldous Huxley from his book, “Ends and Means” Dobzhansky frequently was quoted as saying; “We know evolution is true, even though we don’t know how it works, and have never seen it happen.” “To suppose that the eye with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, ….. and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree.” (Darwin) |

Rom. 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them That which may be known of God - Dr. Taylor paraphrases this and the following verse thus: “Although the Gentiles had no written revelation, yet what may be known of God is every where manifest among them, God having made a clear discovery of himself to them. For his being and perfections, invisible to our bodily eyes, have been, ever since the creation of the world, evidently to be seen, if attentively considered, in the visible beauty, order, and operations observable in the constitution and parts of the universe; especially his eternal power and universal dominion and providence: so that they cannot plead ignorance in excuse of their idolatry and wickedness.” (Adam Clarke Commentary on Rom. 1:19) Rom. 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: |

35 | Is Gambling Wrong? | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 140707
There is no "Eleventh Commandment" in the Bible saying "Thou shalt not gamble." However, gambling violates at least five doctrines of Scripture: the sovereignty of God, stewardship, covetousness, brotherly love, and God’s instruction not to be brought under the power of anything. 36 | Why God allows such tragedy | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 140859
We might also ask why God brought the flood upon the world during the time of Noah, in which all perished with the exception of 8 individuals, It was due to the wickedness upon the earth that the Lord cleansed it with the waters of the Flood. Maybe we should ask ourselves the following question Has the wickedness upon the earth once again reached such a level of wickedness where God possibly needs to cleanse it. We know from Scripture that in the days of Noah He cleansed the earth with the waters of the flood. We also know from Scripture that the next time that the earth will be totally cleansed, it will be cleansed with fire. I do know God is Sovereign. And I trust that He knows what is best. 37 | Once saved always saved ??? | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 143329
Timothy: In the last line of your thoughts on OSAS you stated: "Dont do good works and sin.....curses in this world but still go to heaven." That comment seems to closely resemble the teaching of antinomianism, which turns God's grace into a license to sin. That teaching is dangerous. Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Blessings New Creature |

38 | What is so wrong with Catholics | Bible general Archive 2 | New Creature | 147977
I have quite a few catholic friends, and often the topic of religion comes up in many of our conversations. After conversing with many catholics, it is my opinion that catholics do not have a good working knowledge of Scripture. I have also observed that catholicism is based on traditionalism, externalism, and ritualism. Their religion doesn't appear to ever have been internalized. Religion to the catholics I have befriended is to pray the rosary. To pray to Mary. To not eat fish on Friday during Lent. etc. etc. To be honest, with you, I have yet to meet a catholic, whose religion has made a difference in the way he lives. Also, if you do a search you will find that the Catholic church which is based in Rome, believes that there is no salvation outside of the Catholic church. The Pope is called the Holy Father, and The Vicar of Christ on Earth. A couple of my Catholic friends have even told me that the priest has told them to not waste any time reading the Bible because they won't understand it anyway. The Catholic church is the only authority according to them that can properly interpret the Bible. And if you go to Mass on Sunday, then you can live like the Devil for the next six days, and get right with God the following Sunday. These are merely my observations of the catholics I have personally come to know. |
