121 | worship and praise verses | Ps 117:1 | New Creature | 187192
In my own personal daily devotions in Psalms I recently came across these words of praise which I had to pause to meditate upon. Psalm 57:9 I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the peoples: I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. Psalm 57:10 For thy lovingkindness is great unto the heavens, And thy truth unto the skies. Psalm 57:11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let thy glory be above all the earth. Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry and weary land, where no water is. Psalm 63:2 So have I looked upon thee in the sanctuary, To see thy power and thy glory. Psalm 63:3 Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise thee. Psalm 63:4 So will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. Psalm 63:5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; And my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips; Psalm 63:6 When I remember thee upon my bed, And meditate on thee in the night-watches. Psalm 63:7 For thou hast been my help, And in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. Psalm 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: Thy right hand upholdeth me. |

122 | What did you learn today? | Ps 119:11 | New Creature | 41638
Ps 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. I have learned that sin can keep us from God's word, and God's word can keep us from the sin we would otherwise be inclined to commit. God's word needs to be etched upon our hearts so it will be able to guide us and speak to our consciences to keep us on the narrow path that leads to life. (Matt 7:13-14) |

Read the verses below and let me know if these help you Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Acts 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; Acts 17:27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. |

124 | How best interpreting Psalm 141 : 4 ? | Ps 141:4 | New Creature | 148045
Psa 141:4 - Incline not my heart to any evil thing - Hebrew, to a word that is evil; that is, wrong. The connection seems to demand that the term should be thus explained. The expression “Incline not” is not designed to mean that God exerts any “positive” influence in leading the heart to that which is wrong; but it may mean “Do not place me in circumstances where I may be tempted; do not leave me to myself; do not allow any improper influence to come over me by which I shall be led astray.” The expression is similar to that in the Lord’s Prayer: “Lead us not into temptation.” The psalmist’s allusion here has been explained in the introduction to the psalm. To practice wicked works with people that work iniquity - To be united or associated with people who do wrong; to do the things which wicked and unprincipled people do. Let me not be permitted to do anything that will be regarded as identifying me with them. Let me not, in the circumstances in which I am placed, be left to act so that the fair interpretation of my conduct shall be that I am one of their number, or act on the same principles on which they act. Literally, “To practice practices in wickedness with people.” And let me not eat of their dainties - Let me not be tempted by any prospect of participating in their mode of living - in the luxuries and comforts which they enjoy - to do a wicked or wrong thing. Let not a prospect or desire of this overcome my better judgment, or the dictates of my conscience, or my settled principles of what is right. People often do this. Good people are often tempted to do it. The prospect or the hope of being enabled to enjoy what the rich enjoy, to live in luxury and ease, to be “clothed in short linen and fare sumptuously every day,” to move in circles of splendor and fashion, often leads them to a course of action which their consciences condemn; to practices inconsistent with a life of godliness; to sinful indulgences which utterly ruin their character. Satan has few temptations for man more attractive and powerful than the “dainties” which wealth can give; and there are few of his devices more effectual in ruining people than those which are derived from these allurements. The word here rendered dainties properly refers to things which are pleasant, lovely, attractive; which give delight or pleasure. It may embrace “all” that the world has to offer as suited to give pleasure or enjoyment. It refers here to what those in more elevated life have to offer; what they themselves live for." 126 | Can God Bless America? | Prov 14:34 | New Creature | 119743
kalos I heard Adrian Rogers once say; "We have been so cursed with blessings, that it's time we need to be blessed with cursings." Maybe he had this following quote in mind: "Nothing raises the price of a blessing like it's removal." H. Moore I have heard others comment by saying; "If God blesses America, then He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah" God Bless you as long as you abide in Him New Creature |

128 | So how do you hear God's voice? | Eccl 7:17 | New Creature | 135860
Let me briefly describe one instance where I knew without a doudt that I heard from God. I had applied for a new high tech job, and prayed that if it is God's will for me, that I would get this job, then I would know God wanted me there. So I told God in prayer, that if I got the job, I then would know it was His will. And if I didn't get the job, I would know that it was not God's will for me to have the job. So I said: God, I am committing this matter into your hands, and am trusting you for what ever the outcome will be. Then I found myself worrying over it, and God with His still small voice spoke to my heart and said; "My child why do I find you worrying over this? Didn't you committ the outcome of it into my keeping?" And then I apologized to God for my worrying, because it demonstrated a lack of trust in God on my part. I then completely left the matter in His hands no longer worrying over it, and I felt totally at peace about it. The final conclusion was. I did get the job. I had heard God's loving and still small voice. And I knew that being on this job was where God wanted me to be. He had given me a new workplace, which I considered a new place of evangelism, to reach out to the lost. New Creature |

130 | God created satan, did he create evil ? | Is 45:7 | New Creature | 53428
Satan used his own God given free will to chose to rebel against God, and therefore is rightfully called the father of lies. John 8:44 Ye are of [your] father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. |

131 | Any Bible reference of Jesus' looks? | Is 53:2 | New Creature | 86706
Dominic The only verse that I could think of that gives any hint of Jesus appearance is this one. Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. The only other place I found any description of Jesus appearance was in the non-Bibical works of Flavius Josephus, who was an early historian, that may have possibly seen Jesus personally. 132 | Inability To Fully Understand God | Is 55:9 | New Creature | 96639
Tom Here are some verses that address your question no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun, because, though a man labor to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further, though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. Ecclesiastes 8:17 There is no searching of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28 My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord... my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgements, and his ways past finding out! Romans 11:33 Grace to you New Creature |

133 | Old Testament Law | Jer 7:23 | New Creature | 41165
Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. The OT law states "thou shalt not lie, steal, etc. Is it ok to lie and steal? Paul says, now that were no longer under the law, but under grace, that doesn't give us a green light to do those things the law prohibited. Even under civil law, try shop-lifting from your local Wal-Mart. If you get caught you will get arrested. The law however is etched on the believers heart, not on tablets of stone. An unbeliever will not submit to God's law, that is why we need cicil law to restrain them. The believer submits to God's law by grace motivated obedience, and at the same time fulfills civil law also. |

136 | Did OT saints have Holy Spirit within? | Joel 2:28 | New Creature | 114256
John According to Scripture the "Spirit of Christ" was in the prophets of old (see especially 1 Pet. 1:11) 1 Pet. 1:10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: 1 Pet. 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1 Pet. 1:12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 137 | Does God choose us? | Jon 2:9 | New Creature | 193468
God has chosen to save those who believe in Christ by faith. God is not willing that any should perish (2 Pet 3:9) but that all should come to a knowledge of the truth and be saved (1 Tim. 2:4). Whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. (Rev. 22:17). That is God’s final word on the matter. There remains a universal invitation in the gospel "As Revelation closes we read. ‘Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely’ (Rev. 22:17). Thus the last great invitation in God’s book is an appeal to the will.” - Dr. A.T. Pierson |

139 | SHOULD YOU TITHE FROM GROSS OR NET PAY? | Mal 3:8 | New Creature | 166885
Personally I tithe from my NET, because I tithe from what I have, not from which the State taketh away. Then when I file my tax return, if I get a sum, back I tithe on that as well. I can't tithe I that which I haven't received. Now thats how I tithe. But we need to make a distinction between tithes and offerings. While I tithe 10 per-cent of my NET, I also give offerings occasionaly which excede what I have already given from my NET. We should not be limited by tithes only. Look in the following verse where tithes are distinguished as being something separate from offerings. Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? yet ye rob me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. |

140 | greastest sermon ever preached | Matthew | New Creature | 72782
Your question made me think of the following quote by an author unknown to me. "I'd rather see a sermon than hear one any day, I'd rather one should walk with me, than merely show the way. The eye's a better pupil, and more willing than the ear. Fine counsel is confusing, but example's always clear. I soon can learn to do it, if you'll let me see it done. I can see your hands in action but your tongue too fast may run. And the lectures you deliver may be very fine and true. But I'd rather get my lesson, by observing what you do. For I may misunderstand you, and the high advice you give. But theres no misunderstanding, in how you act and live" |
