202 | What is Acts 2:20 talking about? | Acts 2:16 | Val | 203211
Acts 2:16 but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: Acts 2:17 'AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,' The last days began with Christ Jesus the Messiah. There is no historical account of the sun turned into darkness, and the moon into blood. Therefore this is a prophecy that has not been fulfilled yet. |

204 | What is the joy of the Lord | Neh 8:10 | Val | 202598
In the context of Nehemiah verse 17 gives us more insight, Neh 8:17 All the assembly of returned exiles made booths and dwelt in them; for since the days of Jeshua (Joshua) son of Nun up to that day, the Israelites had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing. It was a day of rejoicing and sadness, i.e., mixed emotions you might say. We see this sometimes at weddings, tears of joy. The Lord brought them back to the land. Trusting the Lord gives us joy because in Him we have hope and He gives us strength in the hard times if we rely on Him. Blessings - Val |

206 | Was Elijah in the chariot in departure? | 2 Kin 6:17 | Val | 202516
Most drawings and pictures of this scene show Elijah in the chariot. You can find pictures of this scene on the net. While the text doesn't say he climbed in the chariot what we can be sure of is that these are God's messengers who brought Elijah safely to his final home. There are many miracles in Elisha's life and are so worth reading. I would put Elijah in the chariot for your muscial. Blessings, Val

208 | Exodus - laws leaders must follow | OT general | Val | 202258
There are places in the bible where it talks about money. Being rich is not what is condemned but how you get the riches. There are two types of rich people. The godly rich and the wicked rich. Some positions provide temptations to get rich because of their influence in different areas so it is probably a hazard for some one easily swayed by the love of money. Again, it is how one receives their riches. If they do not obey the Lord's laws and the laws of the country, and they administer justice and share with the poor, that is a good thing. If they obtain their riches at the expense of others, disobey the word of the Lord and break the law then that is not good. The book of James talks alot about the rich man.
209 | How do I forgive adultry if it continues | Bible general Archive 4 | Val | 202109
TJS Your statement "In this case, forgiveness is given with repentance, but repentance includes stopping the behavior that one is forgiven for. Their marriage is living in sin now, because they have not stopped the sin. By my read of the bible, two adultering spouses that marry are always living in sin, even if they ask for forgiveness it will not be given untill the sin is stopped." Please refer to the life of David the king of Israel 2 Samuel 11 and 12. Notice 2 Sam 12:13 Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has taken away your sin; you shall not die." At what point did the Lord take away the sin? Now look at 2 Sam 12:24 Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba, and went in to her and lay with her; and she gave birth to a son, and he named him Solomon. Now the LORD loved him 2 Sam 12:25 and sent word through Nathan the prophet, and he named him Jedidiah for the LORD'S sake. Notice the words the Lord loved him and named him Jedidiah. The Lord certainly forgave the adultery. We see in David's life consequences from this event the rest of his life as four of his children die. We know this because we read it in the bible. David's relationship with the Lord is restored as we see in his Psalms 51 and Psalms 32. Divorced people do not have to live under condemnation when they have repented and sought the Lord's forgiveness. David moved on with the Lord's blessing and so should we. A thorough study of David can be found at Precept.org - 1 and 2 Samuel Precept Upon Precept. Refocus and serve the Lord with gladness. Blessings to you - Val |

212 | Why does Jesus need to be tempted? | Mark 1:13 | Val | 201689
It shows us that He was without sin. It also shows us the types of temptations we will face in this life. John 1:29 The next day he *saw Jesus coming to him and *said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. |

217 | Asking, but not receiving. | Mark 11:24 | Val | 201621
The scripture you used means if it is in God's plan. If what we ask is in his plan. There are many many women in the bible who had no children for many years then they had a child in their old age for a specific purpose such as Sarah. There are also many women who had children who were killed such as when Herod killed the children when Christ was born. You must decide to stop focusing on this one part of your life that you are not happy with and pray fervently for the Lord to give you acceptance of his dealings with you. He will. Ask Him for His peace in this situation and He will give you a supernatural peace and contentment. Ask him for something to fill this time rather than continuing in mourning. There are many children perhaps your nieces and nephews who would love for you to visit them and be involved in their lives. Volunteer work or nursery work would be very fulfilling. God loves you. 219 | Doe sGod hear prayer of unbeliever | Psalm | Val | 200810
Zinna, I don't know the context of your situation but I know that God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. It is His decision what He will hear or not. However, the following passage is given to believers who seem to flip flop. Hope it helps, Blessings, Val James 1:1 James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings. James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, James 1:8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. |
