141 | purification | Lev 12:1 | Val | 208993
Juststudyingthebible: This passage of scripture is a law regarding how to come to the tabernacle to worship God. There were very specific rules. It is not about how long a women physically has her flow. There was a waiting time whether it was a boy or girl bably that she was to wait before coming to the tabernacle to worship. This is part of the covenant that was done away with, see Hebrews to see how Christ brought in the New Covenant. One thing that might help you is to go through the book of Leviticus and mark "clean" and "unclean". Then write down these verses. I studied Leviticus in a bible study called Precept Upon Precept. It was very helpful to me. The inductive bible can be purchased at this site. At the beginning of each book of the bible it gives you questions to ask of the text to help you better understand it. I have used this bible for many years. After doing your own study you can go to commentaries such as those that are free at Preceptaustin.org. May God bless - Val Lev 12:1 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, Lev 12:2 "Speak to the sons of Israel, saying: 'When a woman gives birth and bears a male child, then she shall be unclean for seven days, as in the days of her menstruation she shall be unclean. Lev 12:3 'On the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. Lev 12:4 'Then she shall remain in the blood of her purification for thirty-three days; she shall not touch any consecrated thing, nor enter the sanctuary until the days of her purification are completed. Lev 12:5 'But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean for two weeks, as in her menstruation; and she shall remain in the blood of her purification for sixty-six days. Lev 12:6 'When the days of her purification are completed, for a son or for a daughter, she shall bring to the priest at the doorway of the tent of meeting a one year old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a turtledove for a sin offering. Lev 12:7 'Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood. This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female. Lev 12:8 'But if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'" |

142 | once saved always saved? | John 10:28 | Val | 208698
7 Reasons Why A Saved Person Can't Be Lost by: Adrian Rogers ------------------------------- 1. Nothing can separate you from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus your Lord. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39) Neither death nor anything that happens after death, or anything that happens while you're living can separate you from God's love. If there were no other verse in the Bible that deals with eternal security, this one covers the base. 2. When you are saved, you are made perfect forever. For by one offering He [Jesus] hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (Hebrews 10:14) When Jesus died on the cross, He saved you forever. Jesus offered one sacrifice for sin forever. If you ever lost your salvation, in order for you to be saved again, Jesus would have to die again. By one offering He has perfected forever those who were sanctified. 3. Our Lord always finishes what He begins. Being confident of this very thing, that He [God] which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6) Let me tell you what the Holy Spirit of God does for your salvation. First, He convicted you of sin. Second, He converted you. And the Convictor and the Converter is also the Completer. If God fails to finish what He's begun God has failed and He cannot fail. 4. You are predestined to be like Jesus. For whom He [God] did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Romans 8:29) God saw you before this world was put in space. He saw you repent of your sin and ask Jesus to save you. And when God saw that, not only did He foreknow it, but also He predestinated it. If it is settled in eternity how can it be undone in time? 5. You are in Christ. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17) You are in Christ just like Noah was in the ark. The ark was a picture of Jesus and when Noah went into that ark God shut the door. Noah may have fallen down a lot of times in that ark, but he never fell out of it. Your security is not in a place, it is in a Person and His name is Jesus. And if you're in Jesus, you're secure and if you're not in Jesus you're not secure. 6. You already have eternal life. Heareth My word, and believeth on him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (John 5:24) Everlasting life is not something you get when you die. Everlasting life is something you get when you receive Jesus. If I have everlasting life, when can it end? Suppose I had it 10 years and it ended. Did I have everlasting life? No, I had a 10-year life. Whatever you have, if you ever lose it, whatever it was it wasn't everlasting. 7. The Lord Jesus Christ is ever interceding for you. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given Me; for they are Thine. (John 17:9) Jesus also prayed: "I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil...Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word" (John 17:15, 20). Say your name in that verse because Jesus prayed for you! Has Jesus ever prayed a prayer that wasn't answered? No, not one (see John 11:42 and Hebrews 7:25). Some people say, "Well, if I believed in this doctrine, then I'd get saved and I'd sin all I want to." Friend, I sin all I want to. I sin more than I want to. I don't want to! When you get saved you get your wanter fixed. As a matter of fact, you get a brand new wanter. • Love Worth Finding (Tuesday, March 26, 2002) |

146 | Adam and Eve Perfect or Flawed | 1 Tim 2:11 | Val | 208222
Eve was deceived by the serpent as we are told in 2 Cor 11:3 But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. Since she was innocent before the fall I personally do not think she was lying. After the fall she knew the difference between good and evil. We know that after the Lord's talk with them - an animal sacrifice was made and its fur was used to cover them. We believe this showed them their sin and that the price was a sacrifice; which pointed to the seed (Jesus Christ). Personally I think that is why when we speak unless we are quoting directly from the scripture we may leave out or add to the word of God. So I think its best to say I believe the word says when not directly quoting rather than God says because we may leave out or add to the word if we don't quote it exactly and that might mislead others. 147 | Why Luke 6:20 they ommited the word sipr | Luke 6:20 | Val | 207450
Luke 6:1 Now it happened that He was passing through some grainfields on a Sabbath; and His disciples were picking the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands, and eating the grain. When we ask the question who was Jesus talking to in Luke 6:20, we see He was talking to His disciples. To determine if Jesus is talking to the crowd or his disciples, read the verses surrounding verse 20. When we read verse one we see the disciples were hungry and eating grain on the sabbath. Verse 16 explains that Judas became a traitor. The conclusion I draw from this passage is Jesus was speaking specifically to His disciples. In Matthew 5:3 we see that Jesus went to a mountain to speak. The verse says He was speaking there to the crowd that had gathered and His disciples. He says blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven - we would need to search cross references to see what it means to be poor in spirit. This is something that is addressed to a different audience than what is addressed in Luke 6:20. In conclusion Jesus is talking about two different subjects. That is why both verses are not the same. |

151 | 14generationsMt1:17?2 Chron counts more | Rom 3:23 | Val | 207405
I will address your question "why would Matthew at least report the math accurately? The biblical chronologists were concerned "to make plain the inner meaning of history as opposed to a listing... It wishes to detail the relationship of a people to its God and to show the inevitable effect in history of the character of that relationship." - John N. Oswalt, "Chronology of the Old Testament," in International Standard Bible Encyclopedia, 1:673 The biblical writers sometimes moved back and forth chronologically in recording historical events; they did this for the purpose of developing particular themes. The fact that chronology was of secondary interest to them does not imply, however, that they were not concerned with accuracy. As Craig Blomberg says, "A careful analysis shows that no two Gospels contradict each other's chronology." - Craig L. Blomberg, "The Legitimacy and Limits of Harmonization," in Hermeneutics, Authority, and Canon, 157 The claim of Israel in the Old testament that they had actually encountered God in history would surely suggest careful concern for historical accuracy. Moreover, biblical accuracy has been increasingly verified by recent scholarship. - Oswalt, "Chronology of the Old Testament," 673 Benjamin Warfield's advice is "Our individual fertility in exegetical expedients, our indivudal insight into exegetical truth, our individual capacity of understanding are not the measure of truth. If we cannot harmonize without straining, let us leave unharmonized." -Warfield, The Inspiration and Authority of the Bible, 219 The doctrine of the inerrancy of the Bible rests not on our ability to demonstrate it, but on its own teaching of its full inspiration, including that of our Lord. - James I. Packer, "Problem Areas Related to Biblical Inerrancy", in the Proceedings of the Conference on Biblical Inerrancy 1987 (Nashville: Broadman, 1987),207 "That the Bible is true in what it says is not a matter of doubt, but what exactly we should be saying about the persons and events referred to in the Bible is not always clear for lack of supplementary information. I do not believe that the honor of God requires me to have an answer, and a complete answer for everything." - Ibid. The bible teaches that it is the product of the breath of God (2 Tim. 3:16) and therefore is truthful in its entirety. In a letter from Augustine to Jerome he expressed his attitude of trust that should condition our approach to the problems of the Bible. "And if in these writings I am perplexed by anything which appears to me opposed to truth, I do not hestitate to suppose that either the MS (manuscript) is faulty, or the translator has not caught the meaning of what was said, or I myself have failed to understand it." - Augustine, The Letters of St. Augustine 82-83 A straightforward consideration of all that the Bible teaches about itself yields a doctrine of inerrancy. No data disproves this fact. |

"Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? 155 | Good and Bad Fruit Out of Context? | Matt 12:33 | Val | 207362
I will be using Segment Divisions, Main Characters, Events and Lessons for Life Segment Division - Matt 12:22 - Main Characters: A Demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, Jesus. Event - The Lord healed a demon-possessed, blind, and mute man who was brought to him. The healed man spoke and saw. Lesson for Life: Jesus heals me when I come to Him Segment Division - Matt 12:23-24 - Main Characters: Crowds, Pharisees, Jesus. Event - Reaction to Jesus healing of the demon-possessed, blind and mute man by the crowds and by the Pharisees. The crowds were in amazement. Lesson for Life: I believe that Jesus has power over sickness and demons. Segment Division - Matt 12:25-27 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus points out how illogical their statement is; that would be a kingdom divided against itself. It would be Satan casting out Satan. Lesson for Life: People who oppose Jesus are illogical. Segment Division - Matt 12:28-29 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus message to the Pharisees; Jesus casts out demons by the Spirit of God, the Kingdom of God has come upon you. Lesson for Life: I believe Jesus is from God and His kingdom is from God. Segment Division: Matt 12:30-31 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus message to the Pharisees; You are either for Me or against Me. Rejection of Jesus is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Lesson for Life: I am for Jesus. I believe He is God the Son. He is my Lord, my Saviour, my all. Segment Division - Matt 12:32- Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus message to the Pharisees; Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. Lesson for Life: One who rejects the Holy Spirit's drawing to Christ will die in their sins. Segment Division - Matt 12:33 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus message to the Pharisees; A tree is known by its fruit. A proper examination of the fruit of Jesus would have showed them He was from God. His healing of the demon-possessed, blind, mute man was evidence He was from God. Lesson for Life: I believe Jesus is good, perfect, holy, sinless. Segment Division - Matt 12:34-35 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus message to the Pharisees; you are evil and cannot speak good. Lesson for Life: I should beware of listening to people who reject Jesus. Segment Division - Matt 12:36 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees. Event - Jesus warns the Pharisees that judgment awaits them and as unbelievers, every idle word they speak will be called to account on the day of judgment. Lesson for Life: I should warn people who reject Christ that their words will be judged. Segment Division - Matt 12:37 - Main Characters: Jesus, Pharisees Event - Jesus warns the unsaved Pharisees "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." Lesson for Life: Jesus always warns people what the future will bring. Blessings, Val |

156 | Do people in heaven remember us on earth | Rev 21:4 | Val | 207353
That is a good question. In saying that we do not know. We think of heaven as being the place of no more sadness so if our relatives saw the sin on earth that would bring grief and sadness. I believe because of this the answer is no. Rev 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." |

158 | Disciples One With Christ? | Eph 2:5 | Val | 206608
Dear bowler, many places in the bible it is said that only God and God alone knows the intentions of a man's heart. Because He does have this insight that no human has it would be impossible to say when the disciples had a definitive event. The bible teaches that if a person is in the faith, the evidence of that is that he will continue in the faith. We know from reading the bible that Judas appeared to be in Christ but actually was not. Since we can only observe the otherward appearance, it would appear that when Jesus called each disciple individually and that one obeyed by dropping what they were doing and following Christ, from our limited point of view that would have been the "definitive event". However, again since only God can rightly judge the heart, it is not possible for us to judge one another because we are only human. There will be many people in heaven who we would not have thought would be there and some may be surprised to see us there. In saying all this we do know that Christ called some as apostles and we have the written word as evidence. However, as to a definitive moment, I would say only God knows. Gen 18:25 "Far be it from You to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth deal justly?" |

No, No, No we are not weak and miserable. Read the end of the book. Revelation 21 and 22. Rev 21:4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away." Rev 21:5 And He who sits on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He *said, "Write, for these words are faithful and true." Rev 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Seek Christ and In Him you will find strength. It is only doomsday to those who are not In Him. Blessings, Val |

160 | They had the knowledge of God | Matt 5:20 | Val | 206119
If you do a word search on the word Pharisees you will learn a lot about them and the whys of what they did. Here is one verse Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected God's purpose for themselves, not having been baptized by John. In essence they were the leaders, had high positions and Christ threatened their position. They did not want to submit to Him. It is a lot like today. People do not want to submit to Christ. They want to live the way they want. To follow Christ to some means they would have to change their lifestyles, something many do not want to do. Again, a word search on Pharisees will show you much. They would be what we call snobs today. Blessings, Val |
