Pastor Glenn - The Jews were trying to bait Jesus into saying he was God. Jesus never took the bait. The Jews tried to "Imply" that Jesus was saying he was God. Show me the verse where Jesus "SAYS" that he is GOD. |

Aften1, But Jesus "was" saying that He was God. He could not be "too explicit" or Satan would not have allowed them to carry out God's plan of redemption of man at the cross of Jesus: 1 Corinthians 2 7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. The Deity of Christ is taught throughout scripture. Especially in the New Testament from after the crucifixion on. Satan knew scriptures concerning Christ, but did not totally understand how the head of the serpent would be bruised (Gen 3:15), or how men from Abel until now would be saved by faith in Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11-12). All true Christains understand these truths. If you do not understand then you might as well see the Jews and ask to be circumcised into their religion, because you cannot approach the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob unless you come His Way. Read the teachings in the book of Acts such as: Acts 2 29"Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,[5] 31he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. 33Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. 34"For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: "The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, 35Till I make Your enemies Your footstool."' The original question still stands. Show me the proof in the words of Jesus where he (Jesus) claims to be God. Which is greater Pastor Glenn - the truth or a belief? |

John 10:30 I and My Father are one." John 20:28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. Rev 19 6And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the[4] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." 8And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. "Which is greater Pastor Glenn - the truth or a belief?" What do you mean by that? The truth is that Jesus is God. This is what the scripture is teaching. You are the only one trying to push your own personal beliefs about many universes and many incarnations!? Your ideas are just plain weird and have no bases in scripture. christ anointed, the Greek translation of the Hebrew word rendered "Messiah" (q.v.), the official title of our Lord, occurring five hundred and fourteen times in the New Testament. It denotes that he was anointed or consecrated to his great redemptive work as Prophet, Priest, and King of his people. He is Jesus the Christ (Acts 17:3; 18:5; Matt. 22:42), the Anointed One. He is thus spoken of by Isaiah (61:1), and by Daniel (9:24-26), who styles him "Messiah the Prince." The Messiah is the same person as "the seed of the woman" (Gen. 3:15), "the seed of Abraham" (Gen. 22:18), the "Prophet like unto Moses" (Deut. 18:15), "the priest after the order of Melchizedek" (Ps. 110:4), "the rod out of the stem of Jesse" (Isa. 11:1, 10), the "Immanuel," the virgin's son (Isa. 7:14), "the branch of Jehovah" (Isa. 4:2), and "the messenger of the covenant" (Mal. 3:1). This is he "of whom Moses in the law and the prophets did write." The Old Testament Scripture is full of prophetic declarations regarding the Great Deliverer and the work he was to accomplish. Jesus the Christ is Jesus the Great Deliverer, the Anointed One, the Saviour of men. This name denotes that Jesus was divinely appointed, commissioned, and accredited as the Saviour of men (Heb. 5:4; Isa. 11:2-4; 49:6; John 5:37; Acts 2:22). To believe that "Jesus is the Christ" is to believe that he is the Anointed, the Messiah of the prophets, the Saviour sent of God, that he was, in a word, what he claimed to be. This is to believe the gospel, by the faith of which alone men can be brought unto God. That Jesus is the Christ is the testimony of God, and the faith of this constitutes a Christian (1 Cor. 12:3; 1 John 5:1). Je'sus, the proper, as Christ is the official, name of our Lord. To distinguish him from others so called, he is spoken of as "Jesus of Nazareth" (John 18:7), and "Jesus the son of Joseph" (John 6:42). This is the Greek form of the Hebrew name Joshua, which was originally Hoshea (Num. 13:8, 16), but changed by Moses into Jehoshua (Num. 13:16; 1 Chr. 7:27), or Joshua. After the Exile it assumed the form Jeshua, whence the Greek form Jesus. It was given to our Lord to denote the object of his mission, to save (Matt. 1:21). Aften1, The bottom line is that Jesus must be accepted before approaching the Father. Pastor Glenn |

Pastor Glenn - the original question was, In Jesus own words, show me the verse were Jesus claims to be God. Now it is important. You are going around in circles. The bottom line is that Christianity has missed the identification of the Trinity. The Father, The Son , The Holy Ghost. Father, God Almighty, and the Son of God. Father, Immanuel and Jesus. And I am happy to be the one to tell you. Unless you can PROVE me wrong and show me where Jesus in his own words says he is God. NOT what someone else said about him. And I suspect your takeing the Apostle Thomas words out of context - this is not needed by you. What is greater the Truth or a belief? Did Jesus say he was God or not? I am still waiting. |

Aften1, You said, "Did Jesus say he was God or not? I am still waiting." Jesus is God: Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. ": Mat 28 16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. 18And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore[3] and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, John 8 19Then they said to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also." John 14 9Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, "Show us the Father'? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. God said, "I will not give My glory to another. ": Is 48 11For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another. Yet He Glorifies Christ: John 17 1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should[1] give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. Pastor Glenn |
