Subject: Finding 'Act as though you have faith' |
Bible Note: Aften1, you supplied the following texts: "Isaiah 29 10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. 11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: 12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned." If you read the rest of the chapter you will see that these things are hidden from the wicked. Check out verses 13-16. You also supplied this text: "Daniel 12 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." Again the wicked do not understand but the wise will understand. And verse 9 clearly shows that the words are sealed "till the time of the end". The text in Rev. 1:1 says just the opposite. That these things are not sealed. That John was shown these things and understood what they meant. Nowhere does it state that he (John) "sealed" these things from those he wrote to. In fact verse 3 IMPLIES an understanding. Then your text in Rev. 5:1-2. Again if you read the rest of the chapter you will find that these seals were opened. verses 5 and 9. And chapter 6 even records each of the seven seals being opened. (Well, except for the seventh seal. It gets opened in 8:1). Now consider Amos 3:7, Aften. I Cor. 2:10; Eph. 3:5. There are others as well that show these things ARE revealed to God's people. Even the title of the book of Revelation means "a revealing" not a sealed writing. continued in next post... |
