Steve- As I have gone through and read this mess of a thread, i am reminded of Pharoah. No matter what proof he had laid on him, he refused to believe and his heart was hardened. I believe we are seeing a lot of this right here in the forum. In the last days people will turn away from the truth, scripture will be made out to be what they want it to be and, as we all can see, aften 1 is an example of this. I will not post further to someone who is not a true Christian and whose only desire is to lead others away from Jesus Christ - our Lord and God.The purpose of this forum is to help Christians understand scripture, not to twist it. Adding fuel to the fire is not helping. Aften 1 refuses to say what denomination, if any, he is affiliated with. If this is one of the teachings of it, it is not bible oriented and as such, he should not be here. Debbie |

Hi, Debbie; Thanks for the reply. I can't disagree with anything you say. But I continue to engage people who seem to find some value in the Bible. After all, why would non-believers (and aften1 certainly appears to be one) appeal to the Bible as authoritative in some way? I know it could just be a clever ploy to try to turn our own "weapon" against us - but maybe they do have a sense that the Bible reveals something important. I believe that Christianity is "a reasonable faith". Part of my mission in life is to show people that the Bible only makes sense if you take it at its word and take it as a whole. If someone believes that some part of the Bible is truthful, perhaps they can be shown that the Bible as a whole is truthful. Then there's no way out. ;-) Peace and grace, Steve aka Indiana Jones |
