Hi Pete:: In your talks with your pastor, has he said to you, "you are not under the Law"? The Law was given to let us know, we all have a need for a savior (Jesus), because we cannot keep the Law, Jesus was the only person to do that. You have asked a question in regard to killing someone, I understand that it was an extreme question. So here is a simple one in return, do you eat Pork, Lobster, Crab? There all on the no list, will you still be eating them in the future? As far as drinking goes, I drank alot before I got saved, but differently than others, if I want to have a drink now I do, any kind of drink, I just do not need the BUZZ anymore. Therefore I do drink on rare occasions, because I do not "need" it in my life. To put it simply. If you need the buzz, your body is not under subjection, your flesh is still dictating to you, it is in control of you. Try going for 1 mo. without pleasing your flesh, and you will see, you do not need the buzz either. It is not what goes into a man that defiles him, but the issues of life, those are the things that defile a man. Mark 7:18-23 18) And saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19) Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20) And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21) For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22) Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23) All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Hello Newwine, Thank you for your thoughts. If you've read some of the posts on this tread you will notice that Brad and Hank have asked me to stop this circular banter. I told them I would, however there was some spillage with WOS. If you care to, just read what I have concluded with my last post to WOS just a few minutes ago. I will say that God has given us each our own level of understanding and that is why we differ and always will. God Bless, Pete |
