1 | Woman's sin worse than man's? | Eph 5:33 | beensetfree | 65743
At the risk of jumping into a frenzy, please allow me to toss in 2 cents worth. I disagree with Rabbi Mark where he says, “It is reasonable to believe that if Adam had been present, his part in this whole thing would have been recorded.” I do believe everything was recorded. Look at the Genesis 3 passage as one would look at a negative of a picture. The empty space speaks volumes. Adam did not take the leadership position given to him by God, one of being head and protector of his wife. By his silence, he left his wife open to temptation. By not speaking up and reiterating God’s “law” or “rule” of not eating from the tree, he dropped the proverbial ball of leadership right at the serpent’s feet (or lack thereof). Rabbi Mark says, “I don't believe God would have left out something that important.” Here I do agree, God would not have left something important out of His word. And He didn’t. God recorded Adam’s silence, which rings like a gong! And I don’t think this would be considered “reading between the lines” either. May God grant His wisdom to us all as we study His word and seek to determine His principal and truth contained within. Ever praying, Beensetfree
2 | Woman's sin worse than man's? | Eph 5:33 | Mommapbs | 65746
Beensetfree! As the instigator of this "frenzy" I thank you this excellent advice: "May God grant His wisdom to us all as we study His word and seek to determine His principal and truth contained within." BTW - I concurr with your observations about the silence of Adam ringing like gong. Sad to say, I suspect that many men are rejecting their God-given role of spiritual headship. The silence is deafening and deadening in some relationships. mommapbs |

3 | Woman's sin worse than man's? | Eph 5:33 | beensetfree | 65749
Mommapbs: You're quite welcome. Something to think about is whether men are 'rejecting' their God-given role of spiritual headship, or have they just 'given up' that role, or have women 'taken it' from them. And even further thought ought to be applied to how can women encourage and empower men to "reclaim" their role as spiritual head! Pray on! Beensetfree:-)
4 | Woman's sin worse than man's? | Eph 5:33 | Mommapbs | 65752
Excellent questions! It has always bothered me that women were "relegated" to teaching Sunday School while the men passed the offering plate and seated the congregation. Just an observation. Praying with you for the fellowship of believers! mommapbs |
