1 | Woman's sin worse than man's? | Eph 5:33 | glory777 | 65705 | ||
And thank God He did lay down the rule - although the feminist movement would not agree. Some interpret "Your desire shall be for your husband.." to mean wanting to dominate over him, and I think that is probably true. You can't have two heads in a corporation making different decisions and have a company survive- neither can a family have 2 heads making opposite decisions and still survive, as we have seen all too often in our culture. Yet, the "natural" tendency is to take dominion from the husband for so many wives, myself included. Yet what a release when you can turn that over. I think a lot of women don't understand because they have never tried it, it goes against what we have been trained and seems to make our role in the marriage seem less (srchng - yes, I am a woman!)when in fact, it gives us more time and energy to allow us to keep more of our focus on the role God intended for us to have. Greetings Debbie! Years ago I prayed that my husband would assume spiritual headship in our home. One Sunday morning while driving to church (the church I grew up in) he turned down a street that led to a different church. We have been there ever since! I had a choice to make all those years ago. I'm glad it was to be submissive - for in reality, God had answered my prayer. Does this mean I still don't struggle with his decisions? Of course, I advocate for "my way" who doesn't? But in the end, it is my husband whom God holds accountable for our family (which includes me) and he takes that more seriously than my whining. Thanks for your input. Blessings on your day! mommapbs |
