Why do most male Ministers and Pastors pass over this scripture whenever you mention that God has called a woman into the ministry?
2 | God can use woman in the ministry? | Gal 3:28 | Xapis | 1474
There are many reasons for believing that women are not called into the ministry. Some of them are what I judge to be educated reasons and some of them are less than that. I believe that good people with good intentions believe both ways. One pastor that I worked with had a group of us come together and he brought the question in a different way than I had ever heard it before. He first started out with the question who could lead, which brought us to the answer that whoever was the least was the greatest. Or put another way the leader was to be servant of all. Therefore if women can serve why can't women lead? Someone that I dealt with could not receive my teaching because they did not want me to be in authority over them. What they didn't know was I didn't want to be in authority over them, I wanted to serve them. There are many issues at stake here, tradition, the curse that pits man against women, pride, and translational difficulties. When you go from a language with gender, pastor being a male verb to a language without gender the pronouns aren't always consistant with the language being translated into. I have heard the argument that the pronouns for pastor are all male and that is why women should not be pastors. The same thing happens in Proverbs 8. I was told that because feminine pronouns were used it could not be a personification of Jesus. I think that the answer lies in a lot of areas. Many of us are not ready for change. Centuries of male dominance, the differences in the sexes, the attitudes towards women in the Bible, not by Jesus but by others, the information explosion and the education of women make this a time where we need honest evalution and study. Most people that I know don't want to go there, it is far too much work. Be patient and don't give up even on us men.
3 | God can use woman in the ministry? | Gal 3:28 | Elijah | 1479
These scriptures have been change in every Bible that I know of, but one, they were change to look as though they were speaking of Jerusalem. This was done through Satins religions as an attempt to keep the women from knowing what they must do and what has to take place just before the end. Ps68:11 11 Jehovah himself gives the saying; The women telling the good news are a large army. Isa40:9 9 Make your way up even onto a high mountain, you woman bringing good news for Zion. Raise your voice even with power, you woman bringing good news for Jerusalem. Raise [it]. Do not be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah: "Here is YOUR God." Isa60:1 1 "Arise, O woman, shed forth light, for your light has come and upon you the very glory of Jehovah has shone forth. Isa60:2 2 For, look! darkness itself will cover the earth, and thick gloom the national groups; but upon you Jehovah will shine forth, and upon you his own glory will be seen. Isa60:3 3 And nations will certainly go to your light, and kings to the brightness of your shining forth. |

Elijah, In reference to your statement; "These scriptures have been change in every Bible that I know of, but one, they were change to look as though they were speaking of Jerusalem. This was done through Satins religions as an attempt to keep the women from knowing what they must do and what has to take place just before the end", could you tell me what the original statements were and who precisely changed them and in what translations/documents were they changed? Thanks, Sam Hughey |

God can and does use women in ministry...has anyone thought of the calling all of us have to be evangelists? Think of the Angeles Temple in Los Angeles, CA....Aimee Semple McPherson started the foursquare church and the first christian radio station...

Elijah, You have twice not answered my question about the source of the alleged changes you claim to have been made in the Bible. So, I will suppose you do not have an answer and the accusation is false. Do you understand the seriousness of such an accusation? Also, I never said anything at all about God not using women in ministry and you should discover much more about Aimee Semple McPherson before you associate the name Christian with her. Sam Hughey |

Dear reformedreader: Welcome to the club. I also posted a question, a very simple straightforward question regarding Elijah's original assertion. I, too, have received no reply. My question is as follows: . . . "Dear Elijah: You write: 'These scriptures have been change in every Bible that I know of, but one...' My question for you is: They were changed from what? FROM WHAT? Were they changed from the original Hebrew text or were they changed from a particular English *translation* of the text?" If his assertion cannot even be clarified by answering honest questions about it, then I would have to assume that the original assertion has no validity, no basis in fact. |

JVH0212, I agree and I realize some might think of this as trivial, but if one is a Christian then one must take seriously the accusations they make (Ex. 20:16;Eph. 4:25). It seems to me that many Christians today want to be "Bible-Believers" but not "Bible-Doers". I would be more than willing to discuss this at length with Elijah, but only on the grounds of true statements or at least statements he would be willing to say he truly doesn't understand, as with any believer.
