1 | Saved vs. Works (John 5:24 and 5:28-29) | John 5:24 | Dabody7 | 60635
If you read in the book of James, it shows that we are saved by works because faith without works is dead and we must show our faith by what we do. We do not produce good works alone but God produces good works through us and we obey Him. Deeds are our obedience to what God wants us to do. If we are not saved, then we would not obey God in the first place.
2 | Saved vs. Works (John 5:24 and 5:28-29) | John 5:24 | CDBJ | 60639
The key to what James is talking about is found in verse 2:18, with the words show me. James 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Someone once said, (What you do speaks so loud that I can’t hear what you are trying to tell me.) What this means is, that if we are going to profess to be Christians or Christ like, our life better show it other wise keep quiet. If we are going to talk the talk we better walk the walk because we are being watched. 2 Cor. 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2 Cor. 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. |
