1 | Can God die? | John 3:16 | justme | 112172
Norm: Thank you for sharing your journey in the Lord. It's amazing how each of us has a personal way the Lord has worked in, and directed us each. I am still confused I have to tell ya. When did Jesus become equal with God? When did the Trinity become three in one? Thanks for your response. justme |

2 | Can God die? | John 3:16 | CDBJ | 112179
Hi justme, It appears like you have it turned around. Jesus didn’t become God; God became a man so He could die for our sins; God as God can’t die, He had to become a man to do it. Jesus was the Man and was sinless and paid a debt he didn’t owe because we, or the human race, owed a debt, to God that we couldn’t pay, eternal separation form God. It would be like a Judge pronouncing a punishment of death on you, for a crime that you committed, then stepping down from the bench and saying that he would take the punishment for you, if you would accept his offer. That’s grace, you don’t earn it and you sure don’t deserve it. Like wise God condemned us, then God steps down from heaven into a mans body, called Jesus, and paid the price! If we will but trust in what God has done for us in the person of His Son He will give us eternal life as a free gift! Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Here is an example of the Father, the Son and the Spirit all together. Luke 3:21-22 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. I hope you understand this, CDBJ |

CDBJ: Your response is correct, however I was dealing with Norm who was saying that at some point Jesus became God I belive Norm was saying after His death on the cross. pehaps Norm will clarify this in his next note. But, CBDJ we are on the same thought pattern and page. Blessings. justme |

4 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | TheFinalSQL | 112207
Can anyone except God call himself the Almighty? The following verse is in red in the NASB. Jesus said it: Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." I do not believe in the trinity doctrine. I believe in Jesus only. Praise the Lord! Norm |

5 | Is Jesus the Almighty? | John 3:16 | Makarios | 112215
Greetings Norm, I believe that Jesus is One of the Three Divine Persons of the Holy Trinity- One God in Three Persons. There is only one God (Isaiah 44:6; 45:18; 46:9; 1 Cor. 8:4; James 2:19; John 5:44; 17:3; Rom. 3:29,30; 16:27; Gal. 3:20; Eph. 4:6; 1 Tim. 2:5). But there is much evidence in the Bible for three Persons who are all called God. As stated above, Scripture is absolutely clear that there is only one God. Yet, at the same time, deity is ascribed to God the Father (1 Peter 1:2), God the Son (John 20:28; Heb. 1:8) and God the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3,4): All three- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit- are said to be omnipresent [everywhere present] (John 4:19-24; Matthew 28:20; Psalm 139:7). All three- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit- are said to be omnipotent [all-powerful] (1 Peter 1:5; Matt. 28:18; Romans 15:19). Holiness is ascribed to each Person (Rev. 15:4; Acts 3:14; John 16:7-14). Eternity is ascribed to each Person (Psalm 90:2; Micah 5:2; John 1:2; Rev. 1:8,17; Heb. 9:14). And each of the three is individually described as the Truth: the Father (John 14:6,7), the Son (Rev. 3:7), and the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:6). Scripture verses that support the doctrine of the Trinity can be found in: Matt. 3:16, Matt. 28:19, Luke 3:22, John 1:1-5; John 3:34-35, John 14:16-17, John 14:26, John 15:26, John 16:7, John 16:13-15, Acts 1:2, 1:4-5, Acts 2:33, Acts 10:36-38, Acts 17:22-31, Romans 1:3-4, 8:9-11, 8:26-27, 1 Cor. 12:3-6, 2 Cor. 1:21-22, 2 Cor. 5:5, 2 Cor. 13:14, Galatians 4:4,6, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:13-22, Colossians 2:2,3,9,10, 2 Thess. 2:13-14, 2 Thess. 2:16, 1 Tim. 3:16, Titus 3:4-6, Hebrews 9:14, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 John 1:1 - 2:2; 1 John 5:6-7 Scripture is clear that the Father SENT the Son (John 3:16,17), the Father and Son LOVE each other (John 5:20), and the Father and Son SPEAK to each other (John 8:47; 11:41,42). Moreover, the Father KNOWS the Son and the Son KNOWS the Father (John 10:15), and Jesus is our ADVOCATE WITH the Father (1 John 2:1). Further, it is clear that Jesus is not the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit DESCENDED upon Jesus at His baptism (Luke 3:22). The Holy Spirit is said to be ANOTHER comforter (John 14:16). Jesus SENT the Holy Spirit (John 15:26). And the Holy Spirit seeks to GLORIFY Jesus (John 16:13,14). In view of these facts, it is impossible to argue that Jesus is the Father and the Holy Spirit. Blessings to you, Makarios |
