1 | Who is Jesus' God? | John 3:16 | CDBJ | 111946
How do you diminish the statement of Thomas and the fact that Jesus didn’t chastise Thomas for calling him God? John 20:26-29 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27Then saith he to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Thomas said, My Lord and my God. I think where you are having a problem is that a man can’t become God, and I agree; but it was no problem for God to become a man! Jesus Christ is the most unique individual in all of existence. He is different then God because he is a man, he is different then man because he is God, he is the God man. In order for one to be a mediator he must be a part of both groups and only Jesus fits this requirement. 1 Tim. 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Whose blood is mentioned in the following? Acts 20:28 (B) to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. God had to become a man to do this! Have a great day, CDBJ |

2 | Who is Jesus' God? | John 3:16 | Tara1 | 111989
Hello CDBJ, We can't know what Thomas was thinking in that statement now can we? I agree the comment was not corrected, thus it is correct. Was Thomas thinking "My Lord (Jehovah) my God (Jehovah) while looking at Jesus? Possibility. Again though Jesus is our Theos John 1:18 tells that “the only-begotten god Gr., monogenes´ theos´, as does John 1:1. Ps 8:4,5 offers insight to this by telling us that even angels are properly called gods. Are they though our Almighty God to be given what Jesus tells us in Matt 4:10 to give only to Jehovah? You tell me. Tara1 |

3 | Was Jehovah wrong? | John 3:16 | Morant61 | 111996
Greetings Tara1! I have asked you at least two times, with no response, how this doctrine of 'gods' can be correct when Jehovah Himself said in Is. 43:10: "'You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, 'and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me." So, was Jehovah wrong and there is in fact other gods? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

4 | Was Jehovah wrong? | John 3:16 | Rowdy | 112056
Our Father recognized there is always the option for mankind to have other gods when He directed His Israelite children "to have no other gods before Me." Yes God knows and created us with the power to choose between Him as the true God or anything else in this world, including the devil, self-indulgence, money, our jobs or anything else that could possibly stand between us and our God. He knows the most powerful god is the one that we worship in our minds. Like my daddy used to say to me as a young boy, we'll find time to do whatever we really and truly love. Our God is the thing that takes up most of our free time. God bless. |

5 | Was Jehovah wrong? | John 3:16 | Morant61 | 112057
Greetings Rowdy! This is really a question I have been waiting for Tara to answer. You see, the JW's claim that Jesus is 'a god', but not Jehovah God. However, Jehovah Himself said that there is no 'God' but Him. Therefore, if Jesus is 'a god', then He must be Jehovah God. The JW's can't have it both ways. Either God was correct or He wasn't. Now, I realize that there are many things which people might call a god, but that doesn't really make them a god. Jeremiah powerfully described someone cutting down a tree and using part of it to cook his dinner while using the rest to make a 'god'. But, it really wasn't a god. Yet, John 1:1 makes it clear that Jesus is God. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

6 | Was Jehovah wrong? | John 3:16 | Tara1 | 112290
Hello Tim, 1 Corinthians 8:5 to me answers your question by saying, “For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him.” You wouldn't say that Jesus Christ is the Father would you? As I've said before, the Bible calls Jesus "theos" several places but the Father Jehovah must be the only Almighty God and Jesus the "Son of God" but never is he called the "Almighty" theos. Tara1 |
