Hi Candy Lee, I think you will find that the word FOR is used and not AS, as you suggest in Ezekiel 4:6! Whenever you see the word AS, or LIKE, in a verse, it could be pointing out, what is known as, a figure of speech of which there are three. There are similes, metaphors, and idioms, recognizing them sometimes is the trick but likely as not they are triggered by the use of, as or for, and the book of Revelation is full of them. Have a great day, CDBJ |

Hi Candy Lee, There is a little booklet out from, http://www.solagroup.org/products/books.html that goes into detail on this subject, that’s called, Understanding Scripture at Face Value, it covers the subject of figures of speech as well as a host of other things and I think I only paid fifty cents for it, CDBJ |
