1 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | CDBJ | 217033
Why pray tell would one want to imitate the Jews who, as a whole, have rejected the Lord Jesus as the Christ and as a result God has cut them off so that He could graft in the gentiles who have trusted in Him? Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Most of Israel for years has done nothing more then put on a big act one of which any self-respecting believer in our precious Saviour Jesus would not want to emulate by exercising Jewish traditions and habits. Romans 4:8-11 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. 9Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. 10How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: Carrying on the traditions of rebellious Jews isn’t the answer. If that was what God wanted it would be very easy for Him to save more Jews. I am of the seed of Abraham by faith, not by traditions that mean nothing. Romans 9:7-8 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. It looks like there are gentiles that like to play the same game that Peter played only in reverse. Galatians 2:11-15 But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. 12For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. 13And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. 14But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? 15We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, The lord chose me as who I am to preach and further the gospel and playing the game of hypocrisy as a Jew would only frustrate the grace of God that is in me. 1 Cor. 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 2 Cor. 1:12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. Why saved gentile would want to put on a phony façade and try to sound and act like a Jew literally blows my mind! Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. We can’t impress God with some kind of a act that we put on: the only thing that impresses God is what His Son Jesus Christ did on the cross and the sooner humans believe it the better off they’ll be! John 6:28-29 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. Romans 10:1-3 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. This is the last that I will be posting to this subject it is futile. My final two cents worth, CDBJ |

2 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | rakpak | 217043
The only Jewish person I want Imitate and follow is Yahoshua, as did the Apostles.
3 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | stjohn | 217054
When you say you want to "imitate Jesus, as did the Apostles." You mean like the Apostle Peter, who in Gal 2:11-21 was rebuked for his hypocrisy? Or would that be more like the Apostle Paul, who said in 1 Cor 11:1 "Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ." that same Paul that rebuked Peter for his hypocrisy? |

And I remember what Peter said, the one who actually walked with and was taught by Yahoshua (Jesus). 2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. And Paul observed the sabbath and feast days, and continued teaching the feast day. |

Scripture itself (I'd be happy to show it to you if you are interested) attests to the fact that Paul was personally taught by Jesus as well. If you knew the Scriptures, you would know that. And I really hate to say this, rakpak, my friend, but, many don't know the word of God, and, hence, they no not God. By the way Paul did not teach 'the' feast day, he taught ON the feast day. There is a tremendous difference! And one that can unfortunately lead to a great deal of heresy.
6 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | rakpak | 217068
Sorry, Paul never walked with Yahoshua as did Peter. And if you read 1cor. really good, you will see that Paul was indeed teaching the feast days.
7 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | Morant61 | 217078
Greetings Rakpak! Where did Paul advocate the keeping of feast days for Christians? As for Paul, he did not follow Jesus while Jesus was alive, but Scripture does say: Gal 1:12 - I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. 8 | Who then is on this broad way? | Matt 7:13 | rakpak | 217080
1Cor. you will find a lot of teaching on the feast days. My point about Peter having been taught by Jesus, was the fact that Peter had actually spent time walking with him. And to think somehow that Paul is greater than Peter, even goes against what Paul taught, "I am of Paul, I am of apollos" I know you know the scripture I am refering to. My personal preference for making doctrine, has to come from more than one source, But that is jusy MY preference.

Greetings Rakpak! They are certainly both Apostles and inspired author's of Scripture. Concerning, 1 Corinthians, where exactly does Paul advocate the keeping of feast days for Christians? Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
