Bible Note: Greetings Grafted in! You wrote: "Every time a person read the Hebrew scriptures and came to the word spelled yod shin vav ayin, they were calling on their Savior's name (which means salvation). It's the name God gave Him. I'm going to change it? Not me!" Yet, God Himself does not follow this practice in the New Testament. :-) Jesus is not called 'yod shin vav ayin' in the NT. He is called 'iesous'. God is not called 'YHWH', but 'theos'. Simply put, God uses a variety of languages to refer to Himself. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
