Subject: Who then is on this broad way? |
Bible Note: Greetings, As far as you are concerned, where do the following fit into your program of the path? Acts 15:24-29 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment: 25It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Suppose one steps off of this path that you speak of then what is their demise? From your perspective, taking into consideration your primary verse of Matt 7:13; what is the way or path referring to in the next verse: keeping it all in context? Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. You speak of keeping the commandments which is a plural word in the Koine Greek but the last word in Matt7:14 is the word “IT” which is “AUTOS” in the Greek and it is a pronoun in the singular: something isn’t adding up with regards to the path or way that you are suggesting??
