1 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | Searcher56 | 154054
Then if they know when they are two or three ... which is when most children can tell you what God requires of them, sort of ... they are lost. Also, what about those who never know know what God requires of them.
2 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | Hank | 154121
My grand-daughter is two years old. She has only begun to put simple English words together in a most rudimentary way. It is unthinkable to me that this tender young mind is capable of understanding, much less of articulating, what God requires of her. Searcher, your idea on this subject is a guess and so is mine, but, guess what? I guess I'd rather go with my guess than your guess. ..... In any event, the subject is academic to begin with. We err when we assign arbitrarily a certain "age of accountability." .... But, really Steve, how can you say that most children at two or three can tell what God requires of them? They're hardly potty trained at that age, for goodness sake! --Hank
3 | Do babies go to heaven or hell? | Gen 5:24 | Searcher56 | 154125
Scripture ... Rom 1:18ff ....................... Hank, I don't know what God will do with Brynliegh, our 22 month YOUNG grandtoddler. She know when she does wrong ... I think within a couple of years, she'll know about Jesus and He is the Way. I wouldn't want for her to take a chance ... or us ... that she is excluded from heaven ... so soon and very soon we'll explain to her about Jesus and her need. Does Romans 1:18 and following not include -stillborn -babies and very young -mentally challanged ... Steve PS Potty trained? She likes taking off her diaper ... and when she sits on her potty, she doesn't go ... yet. |

Steve, one does not have to be a trained theologian to read Romans 1:18-32 and know that the stillborn, babies and the very young, and the mentally retarded are NOT included in the group of people about whom Paul is writing! In vs. 26,27, he refers to men and women -- not infants or stillborn -- as being the ones whom God gave up to "vile passions." How can infants and the stillborn be filled with "all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness"? (vs. 29). How can the still-born, infants or mentally retarded be included among the people Paul is describing in this passage? Can a still-born murder or engage in sexual immorality? The idea is unthinkable, and one has no business suggesting such an unscriptural concept on this Forum. Prove such statements by Scripture or retract them! --Hank
