1 | Why did God tell Abraham to kill his son | Gen 22:2 | bibleman12 | 214870
When God told Abraham to kill his son... why was that not sin and why was that not tempting Abraham to sin? Which would be against what God said in James chapter 1 about God NOT temping any man with evil.

Dear Bibleman, Let me try to see if I may be of help. Since you quote James Chapter 1, you might also find the answer there. It is clearly stated in James 1:14 "But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust." So, we see that a person is tempted by his/her own LUST. I don't see it bears a lustful desire in the case of Abraham. Rather, I view it a test as stated in James 1:2-4 and Abraham has demonstrated his faith in God as required in v6-7. Just my 2 cents.
