Greetings JM! I pray that your view of Christianity is not dimmed or has been made askew by those who have let you down. The Number One reason that dissuades the masses away from Christ is hypocrisy. This world finds it completely unacceptable when those who claim to be followers of Christ prove in their actions to be worse than those who claim no allegiance to religion. And how right you are! There should be not even be a mention of such sin being committed amongst those who believe in Christ. But, if I may, make an appeal to you.. When a person claims that he is following Christ, then what he is actually saying is that he is not perfect, in and of himself, but he is allowing God to live through him (2 Cor. 5:17). But we are by no means perfect (Phil. 3:12), and we continue to fall to sin (Rom. 3:23; 1 John 1:10). When believers sin, it is not God who sins, but it is we who sin against God, since sin is rebellion to God (God cannot be in rebellion against Himself). In fact, all Christians experience an inner struggle between 'the flesh' and the Holy Spirit that lives inside of us (Galatians 5:17). Our selfish nature within constantly fights the rule of Christ within us, and we often end up doing our will rather than God's. Christians face this conflict every day, but through the Spirit we can overcome our sinful desires and win the battle. My appeal is this: That you would not come to a conclusion about God based upon what sinful human vessels have done to disgrace His name, but that you would judge God based on who God is, all by Himself. He deserves that chance, to be judged on His own merit, and not on the merits of those who have fell from grace. Blessings to you, Makarios |

2 | God's responsibility? | Numbers | Ngop | 105428 | ||
Makarios, Greetings. Please enlighten me. In human terms, one is responsible for his own doing. In a workplace, a manager is responsible to whatever failure his staff makes and in a family, a father is responsible for his children's behaviour. Now, my question is " Don't you think God feels responsible for the misdeeds of His creation?" Could it be God gave His only Son because of this feeling of responsibility ( I know John 3:16 ). BUT if it was so, it seems like it is some sort of imperfection yet we all know He is perfect. God bless Ngop |

Ngop, these are great questions you bring up. However, i think you need to look at it a little differently. ask, 'why is a father respsonsible for his child's behavior?' i would not say a father is really responsible, but out of love responds to the child out of responsibility... let me clearify. In no way is a father going to jail for a child's crime. there is juvenile institutions for that. when a child is older (i believe its 18 years?) they are to face consequences as an adult. what i mean by this all is a father gives birth to his child and loves his child. because he can see himself in the very being he created, he is in love and wants to be fully responsible for the child. however, the father's role mainly is to prepare the child to grow up, ween, and then raise the child to a point where it would be able to one day have its own child to love also. you see, there is a core of a relationship where this responsibility comes from. there are many people that do not hold responsibility for their child. We have this love relatinship with God. In no manner did God have to take responsibility for us and our sins. His love for us saw that we were in dire need of a savior, so HE responded. a loving father would not sit still if his child was in dire need of something. if you ask me, the fact that God sent Christ just makes Him even more perfect of a father. as for the management role, i feel it healthy not to look at it that way. management leans toward a business mentatliy, and that would sway Christianity into more of a religion versus a relationship with GOd. i know this was not very lucid, but i hope it helped some. great question though. |
