Jesus that raised from the dead was not the same Jesus that died. Once you understand this it becomes easier to see who Jesus really is. What makes us alive? Two things, Blood and Spirit: Lev 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood... James 2:26 For just as the body without the spirit is dead... On the cross Jesus gave up the Spirit: John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. The blood of Jesus was spilled: John 10:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. The body of Jesus was raised on the third day. There is no blood in that body. What raised the body of Jesus? God Almighty raised him. Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ--this Jesus whom you crucified." Phil 2:9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, That name he gave him is LORD: Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images. John 17:5 "Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. Matthew has a very good example showing the difference between Jesus before the cross and after the cross, whether or not he will be with us. Before the cross: Mt 26:11 For you always have the poor with you; but you do not always have Me. After the cross: Mt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. I'll end with this scripture: Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." Check your NASB, written in red, words of Jesus, calling himself the Almighty. God never "was". God is a Spirit, God can not die, but Jesus died, he "was" Jesus is the LORD God Almighty Jesus Only! TheFinalSQL Why would you come to a Christian forum and try to say the Jesus that died on the cross is not the same Jesus that was resurrected three days later, when the Bible clearly states it was the same Jesus? That non-sense is exactly what the Jehovah Witnesses teach! EdB |

By saying he is not the same, I do not mean two different people. His attributes are different. He was exhalted by God. Notice in the two Matthew scriptures I quoted. Before the cross he said he would not always be with us. After the cross he said he would always be with us. Norm |

Norm Again this is exactly the Jehovah Witness stance. they claim Jesus that was raised was not flesh and blood but rather spirit. Yet Jesus demonstrated He was more than spirit, he was handled, he eat and etc. EdB |

Hi Ed, You know I have to honestly admit that the Jehovah's Witness thought popped into my head also... but I had one problem in view that the poster also said, "I believe in Jesus Only! The the exhalted Jesus is God" Now I could be wrong but don't the JW's believe that Jesus is no more than a demi-god? My good friend Diane and I always differ on this she is a JW and she will not call Him the exalted God. Please help me here? Thanks, Kathy P.S. I probably should leave this alone but you know how nosey I can be by now. :) |
