Bible Question:
Greetings Tara1: You wrote, "Yes, Jehovah is my banner or refuge, too and He is the One I turn to for guidance comfort, and peace. Jesus’ example enables us to better understand his personal qualities such as love, compassion tolerance and peace." My question is WHO is this Jesus? Is He YHWH? Wondering about your "theology" . . . mommapbs |
Bible Answer: Yes Jesus is YAHWEH. In the old testament people did not know God's name. Moses knew him as I AM. When they came to get Jesus in the garden John 18:4-5 Jesus said who are you looking for. And when the soldiers told him he said "I AM". Now several versions of the bible differ, in the KJV it says I AM he with he in italics, because it was not in the original greek text. Other versions like Websters version or word English version leaves out HE. The bible records in all versions that the soldiers "fell back" because of the POWER of the name. I AM. Jesus said that "I and my father are ONE." John 10:30 in Isaiah 43:10-11 it says:Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Isa 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. Jesus God. 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. John begins his book with the beginnig or creation of the world "In the beginning was the WORD and the word was with God." Goes on to say that by the word (god) all things were made and without him nothing was made that was made. But Verse 14 interests me in John 1 it says "And the word (we have established the word was God.) was made FLESH and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth." Interesting Huh? Also, trinitarians believe that Jesus is literally sitting at the "right and of the father." My bible does not say sitting AT the right hand it says sitting ON two different words with different meanings God "stretched forth his HAND" I believe it was his right hand he stretched forth. (Isaiah 59:16)Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none BESIDE me. I also think it is interesting where it talks of Jesus' birth in Isaiah 9:6 it calls Jesus the "EVERLASTING FATHER" (just blows me away Jesus is the Father, the son, and the Holy Ghost (John 14:26)) Anyways, I didn't mean to write this much but YES Jesus is YAHWEH Jesus is ELOHIM Jesus is THE I AM. Jesus is the Father. The son. and The Holy Ghost. Just a tidbit of info and you can research this it wasn't until the coucil of Nicene in 324 AD that people even considered a triunity of the Godhead. Up until the Council of Nicene Jesus was considered God. I don't know about you but I want to believe the bible, not man. |
