Bible Question: Where does the Bible show once SAVED ALWAYS. |
Bible Answer: Hello Glenn, I am glad you ask this question. Though I do not know your belief in this matter I will tell you up front you will receive alot of responces that will tell you only to believe in Jesus and you will be saved. But the truth is thats not bible based doctrine. Yes, I know all the verses that say "call on the name the Lord", "if you believe in the Lord", and the favorite "we are saved by grace". And I am not going to deny any of that. You must call on the name of the Lord, that is to confess His name that He is the Christ. Matthew 10 32 "Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. And we must believe,John 9,35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"[5] 36He answered and said, "Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" 37And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you." 38Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshiped Him. And also it is true that the grace of God saves us.Ephesians 2 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, But, if you have read any of your bible in the Old Testement you would see that man has always had to do somthing to receive Gods grace. The Patriarchs offered sacrifices and Noah, he built the ark. It was Gods grace that warned him of the coming flood and the people laughed at him and didn't believe him did they. If Noah would have just said Lord I believe he and his whole family would have died in the flood the same as the rest! And in the New Testement our salvation is through the blood of Christ. But again its conditional. How do we come into contact with the blood of Christ today? Through water baptism.John 3, 5Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Romans 6 Dead to Sin, Alive to God 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Jesus comanded water baptism as a condition to being saved Mark 16:16 along with belief and faith. Peter says,1 Peter 3 19by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited[1] in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. There is a case of once saved always saved in the bible but its conditional.1 John 1 7But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. I hope this has helped and if you have any futher questions please ask. Your friend in Christ, Raven |
