NASB | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God's seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again--who is reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him. |
Subject: One born of God cannot sin? |
Bible Note: Greetings to the entire forum: [SOAPBOX] In as far as I participate in many, many forums from automotive cars/parts to several forums on XM and Sirius satellite radio to several on Bible studies and even a few on the new digital television services. I can’t understand why we (regular users of any and all forums) have so little regard for new users on any and all of them. Background: As a FORTRAN programmer since the early ’70, and a personal computer users since 1979 and as an internet user since 1989 when I used a 300 baud modem (that’s right 300 baud, not a Mega baud DSL/Cable/T1 speeds but a “see-every-letter-typed-as-they-are-typed” 300 baud acoustic telephone modem that you would see if you rented the movie “War Games”) along with a Radio Shack 8088 computer running at 1 megahertz and a total of 640 Kilobits of RAM. Using said equipment to discuss wither or not Captain Picard was going to become a full blown Borg the next season, during the first run of Star Trek the next generation, I just can’t ever get over the hateful nature of people on newsgroups / usenets / forums can be. For instance: Go to www.xmfan.com and click on search. Type in “which better Sirius or XM” and you get over 4,400 hits. Who wants to read through all of those? I don’t, neither does anyone else. But If you come over and start a thread about which service is better, look out brother, you will get exactly the same response that was given here: ”The topic of the two natures has been discussed on this forum so much that most don’t want to rehash it again.” Well so what? We get new users all the time, what does that say to the new users. To the new users of satellite radio, to the new purchasers of Ford or any other make vehicles, or of our beloved Christ? It speaks very poorly of the attitude of the people who inhabit such forums. It might just be the deciding difference if somebody wants to buy a Mustang or a Monte Carlo. It could be the difference between becoming an atheist or a Christian! Our careless attitude might just give some people the reason that Satan is indeed giving them to turn their back on our Glorious Saviour, Jesus Christ. We don’t need that. For instance; if you asked on alt.tv.tech.hdtv about the benefits of COFDM because you don’t know about the benefits or disadvantages of COFDM, you would find you only had one friend. His name’s Bob. Everyone else would scold you out of the newsgroup. But, you, my friend, really want to know if there is an advantage to COFDM. Guess what, nobody will tell you, because “The topic of the CODFM has been discussed on this forum so much that most don’t want to rehash it again.” What does it hurt to tell new people what they want to know. We might all learn something new in the process. If you’ve discussed a certain topic, ignore the thread, or help the new convert. I’ll tell you that most satellite radio users prefer XM over Sirius, VSB 8 is the type of modulation used in the United States for the new digital television service that will replace the analog signals in just a couple of years while CODFM is a type of modulation used in the new Digital Television in Europe. Bob lost a lot of money when VSB-8 became the standard for the United States. I can tell you that there is no such thing as a 1964 ½ Ford Mustang, they are all sold and titled as 1965’s and I can tell you that Captain Picard did not become a full blown Borg on ST-TNG. These alone are just a few of the taboo subjects on other forums. To keep in spirit of this forum, Least we remember what Jesus said in Mat 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” And in the words of Forest Gump, “That’s all I gotta say ‘bout that.” Thanks for the [/SOAPBOX] Your Brother in Chris, Russ |
