NASB | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God's seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again--who is reborn from above--spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him. |

Bible Note: Hi CDBJ, I've heard this before, and its a very interesting idea. Another aspect of it is that the father determines the blood of the child, and we know the Bible says "the life is in the blood". The only thing is, it doesn't work with scripture. Hebrews 10:5 "Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:" This scripture tells us that it was God Who prepared Jesus' body for Him. There is nothing in scripture that adds to this, such as to say that "the Holy Spirit's 'chromosomes' combined with Mary's chromosomes to form the Baby Jesus." To add to this is just a whole lot of speculation. Love in Christ, Mark |
