Subject: Holy Spirit convicts of sin? |
Bible Note: Hi Mike, I don't really know what being under the law has to do with being aware of and being sorry for our sins. I think your last statement pretty well sums it up. When we sin, we are aware of it as Christians because of the Holy Spirit working on our conscience. Non-believers don't have that working for them, so we are given a 'heads-up' if you will, by the Holy Spirit. It's part of the sanctification process. It's really a good thing! And a wonderful relationship between us and our loving Father! When we sin, the Holy Spirit convicts us of it, we confess our sins, God forgives us and, shows us a better way, by us knowing Him and His heart through reading the Scriptures. Yes, we walk in righteousness, but we still mess up and, we need to confess our sin when it is revealed to us. As you said, confession, for sanctification. I hope that helps. John |
