Bible Question (short): Immune to poison if my faith is true? |
Question (full): Hello! I asked this same question at another site, but nobody answered :( I was hoping somebody here could help me. The bible I read this from is the New International Version. The passage is Mark 16:17-18. The sentence is "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. I can pick up snakes with my hands, but I was wondering about the deadly poison thing. Am I immune to poisons if I truly believe in Jesus? Or have I misinterpreted the scripture? Thanks! |
