Bible Note: Hi Mike, Where does it say condemn? I think you are misunderstanding the word convict where is is used in this context. It would be as accurate to use the word convince, (as I believe some translations do, or in the one you used it says, reporove) in this sense, because you are correct, the Church is indeed not condemned. But the Holy Spirit simply points things out to us, that we would otherwise not consider sin. Does that help? If not, we can try it another way if you like. John |
