Bible Note: Greetings John! Of course, from my perspective I see it a little differently. I see verse 18 as teaching that the death of Christ on the cross extended God's grace to the same exact extent that Adam's sin extended condomnation. As Scribe pointed out in his post, this grace must be received, but it is real none the less. Of course, this isn't the only verse which I believe states this point. We have discussed 1 John 2:2 several times. :-) I believe that Rom. 5:18 makes the same point - that Christ's atonement is universal, but not the reception of it. And, there are others. Well, I have to run! I'll chat with you later my friend. I pray that all is well with you and yours! Your Brother in Chris,t Tim Moran |
