Subject: Predestination question? |
Bible Note: Dear Scribe, You wrote "Sticking to this one passage it does indeed declare that ALL men are justified by one act of righteousness. All they have to do is appropriate it by faith." Sounds like man must contribute something (faith) in order to activate his justification. Of course there is no proof that unregenerate man has been endowed with a latent justification that he can activate by "accepting" Christ. It sounds like a new teaching to me. Is it new? Perhaps, if you look again at the previous verse (17) you will see that (18) is a summation of that which preceeded it. Rom 5:17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more THOSE WHO RECEIVE the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
