AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no one in any way deceive or entrap you, for that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first [that is, the great rebellion, the abandonment of the faith by professed Christians], and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction [the Antichrist, the one who is destined to be destroyed], [Dan 7:25; 8:25; 1 Tim 4:1] |
Bible Question:
Thanks CDBJ, The reason I asked is because with regard to Christs first advent and second advent there are no other advents/comings of Christ, so how is it that when the rapture is taught it is not in line with either the first advent which is plain that it could not be, or the second which according to scripture takes place at the last/seventh trumpet (1 Cor.15:51,52. Rev.10:7. Rev.11:15-19. The trumpets mentioned are found in Rev.8:-Revelation 11:.These trumpets are there as the consequence of the reign of the antichrist (Rev.14:8-10) With the understanding that according to the scripture, 1 Cor.15:51,52 is the last/seventh trumpet it can only take place after the tribulation, so why do we teach otherwise? Bible Answer: M.Royal, Why would you think that the "last trump" of 1 Cor 15 is the "seventh trumpet" in Revelation? Are you thinking that no more trumpets will be blown after that? Since Zecheriah 14 specifies that the feast of Tabernacles will be kept during the millenium, and trumpets are to be blown during the feast of tabernacles, we know that there will be other trumpets sounded. Not to mention the likelyhood of more times beyond this. Granted, the 7 trumpets are a series, and one of those will be the last of that particular series, but why pick this series of trumpets? There are several other series of trumpet blowing mentioned in Scripture. Since 1 Thess 4 talks about this being perhaps the "trumpet of God", why pick a trumpet sounded by an angel? What would you offer as conclusive Scriptural teaching that this "last trump" is the seventh trumpet in Revelation? Love in Christ, Mark |
