Bible Note: Greetings Mark! Thanks for the response my friend! I wasn't wanting to 'argue' or anything. :-) I was just curious as to your thinking. I would recommend that you do a little more digging on this word is more than just Strongs. Based on all of the reading I have done on this word means 'to depart' only in the sense of 'rebellion', not just a physical departure to another location. Apparently, the verb can mean to 'depart' physically. But, I haven't found any evidence that the noun form ever means this. It seems to have gained a technical meaning.
